Just finished my first run through the new Arch/Matheos. WOW. Incredible record. It is heavy, but has a bunch more atmosphere and mood in comparison to Sympathetic Resonance (and I loved that album). A great second album by John and Jim for sure. Really, really impressed.

Kind of dark and influenced by the electronic music of the time (1997), damn this is a great pop record.

It's funny, the debut was MASSIVE.  This one came out and they just kind of fell off the face of the earth.

Billie Eilish - When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?

I'm only 28 but Billie Eilish is like 17 so I have no idea how to feel about listening to this kind of music when it's made by a literal teenager. It's got some sophistication to it, some sexiness, super chill electronic stuff, and I'm actually digging the hell out of it. I wouldn't care if I didn't know this was a 17 year old girl, but it's like the equivalent of Stadler listening to Harry Styles - I don't think I'm at all the demographic for this, but I dig the hell out of it.
From a Mega Man Legends island jamming power metal to a Walrus listening to black metal, I like your story arc.

puppies asked if i'd listened to these guys when he was auditing bands for my roulette and technically i think i listened to some but not much of this before
anyways checked it out again since he never sent them
glad he didn't. can't handle the production, even on the remaster it sucks, and the growls are meeeh too. music not interesting enough to keep me interested for the entire 72 minute album either. like i can see where the appeal of this comes from but i basically cannot listen to most death metal made before like, 2005 at the absolute earliest it seems, production on 90's and early 2000's death metal is almost universally abysmal
