Tim, even if I come last in your roulette, you checking this album out already when your roulette is only at round 2 makes staying up at night after 15 hour work days looking for songs for you worth it.

I appreciate it!

This album smokes!

I'm ordering it later today, along with their new album probably.

Bro, Follow the Reaper and Hatecrew Deathroll.  I've just started listening to the new one.  Sounding like an impressive return to form.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

oh yeah i sure did listen to this, didn't i

it's uuhh. just not very interesting. not the 1/5 album AMG gave it but there's nothing really compelling about it either

hhmm. i remember checking out this band's last album too which i found okay but kind of amateurish and this still has some sense of amateurishness to it but it seems stronger overall, though there's still some weird stuff and the vocals are still completely pointless

yeah, it's really good.  That album was actually my introduction to the band.

Winterhawk is a one and done band with that single album being released in 1982, although it sounds like it should have come out in the mid 70s.  It's some throw back hard rock that gets somewhat proggy.  Kind of Wishbone Ash + Rush with a little southern rock and Kansas thrown in for good measure.

Currently listening: System of a Down - System of a Down

Recently listened:
Keren Ann - Bleue (2019)
Rating: 3.5/5
Thoughts: Good. Pretty by the book Keren Ann tbh, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Snarky Puppy - Immigrance (2019)
Rating: 4/5
Thoughts: Really liked this one. "Even Us" is an early contender for my song of the year.

Miles Davis - In a Silent Way (1969)
Rating: 4/5
Thoughts: Overall good, but there were some parts that lost my interest and it felt a bit short.

KOЯN - Follow the Leader (1998)
Rating: 3/5
Thoughts: Has a lot of good things going for it, but it takes itself waaaaaay too seriously and the lyrics veer toward the "cringy edgelord" side a lot of the time.

Gojira - Magma

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Gojira - Magma

My first exposure to Gojira.   Saw these guys a couple of years ago with Opeth and they really rocked.  Would love to see them again.
