I've been waiting for the day when I can say that I own 6/6 of the albums on a Big Hath post. It's still never happened but today was close. I'm 5/6, only one I don't own is Soul Spell

War of the Worlds is so much better than I thought it was going to be. The drummer filled in for Jason Rullo on a tour or two, and I think also toured or recorded with JLB. It's not new Symphony X, but really a fun listen. Romeo is right up there with Petrucci, Devin Townsend, and a very elite group of "rock musical geniuses".

Thanks for the recommendation! I'll check it out. I'm new to Deafheaven so I don't have anything to compare it to. I saw theneedledrop review it and he didn't like it, yet most of the comments were people saying how much they loved it. It seemed like an interesting band, so I checked it out. I like the mood of it, beautiful, yet dark. I downloaded Sunbather tonight, so I'm gonna check that one out. First I'll check out Morrow though.

lol fantano is one of the worst metal reviewers on youtube, never take his word for anything

i didn't even like the new deafheaven particularly much either but his review was completely off & he's proven himself on several occasions to have basically no clue what he's talking about when it comes to metal anyways

oh, i like this a -lot- more than mayhem in blue. not as weird but honestly the songwriting just feels a lot better, dig the riffs & the general vibe of this quite a bit

i was all geared up to get the one TAC sent me in my next order but wanted to listen to at least one album from them regardless and uhh

umm

this is really damn good, a lot better than the one i was sent tbh

also apparently they have another album coming out this year so i might have to check that one out if it's any good, but uhh yeah, on this one

tbh there's a few spots on this one that gave me chills and the production is s t e l l a r like wow the guitar tone is excellent for atmosphere & the bass comes through loud and clear so much

& they even made a POLKA bit work? wow

this is legit toe to toe with any of the best albums I got in my roulette tbh and this is the first time I've even spun it. wow. i can see why puppies was surprised these guys weren't already on my banlist
