Der Weg Einer Freiheit: Expected to love this and I think I do. Not getting all I want out of it after one listen obviously, but it is good all the way through and not overlong.
kaddisfly: This is one that I had already spinned a couple of songs of prior to this, but never got through the whole album. It's... veeery long, and doesn't feel like it has to be. Kind of bored me sometimes, but some songs are really good.
dwef:  :metal
kaddisfly: i'll agree that it probably could serve to be a few tracks shorter but aside from campfire, via rail and forest are both amazing and there's a lot of great stuff besides

I think the only two instrumental albums I had back in the day!  Both gems.

Yup - the two definitive instrumental guitar albums of my teens while I was learning to play.   Played a few tracks off Surfing ....... for my music exam in final year of high school.   And had to just about beg to get the old stiffs at the Music Board to allow me to play such "out there" material :lol

Dimmu Borgir - Eonian

Same. I'm really digging it. I'd heard some rather negative reviews but I think it sounds pretty fresh and I'm more than happy after one listen. Council of Wolves and Snakes is a good example, it's a total curveball and it wasn't like any Dimmu Borgir I'd heard before. Really cool though  :metal it's like Dimmu Borgir meets Roots era Sepultura  :lol (Well not that much, it just has some tribal stuff thrown in there).

Yea i'm diggin it too, although I think the second half is where things gets interesting. Lightbringer, I Am Sovereign, Archaic Correspondence and Alpha Aeon Omega are all killer tracks.
