I played that Skin album recently and enjoyed it. One I'd pretty much forgotten about.

I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".

Track 6 - "In The Absence of Sun" is the best song they've released since "Recreation Day" but the rest of the album just kind of blends together into the same mid-tempo chugga-chugga-ch-ch-ch-chugga-chugga-ch-ch-ch and I don't know if Tom writes all the vocal melodies but every song here has the same handful of bluesy melodies in it just kind of mixed around in a different order and I can hear vocal melodies that sound an awful lot like vocal melodies from previous albums.  I don't know about this band anymore and I don't think it's just me getting burned out on this kind of music.

I walked out of the last 2 Dream Theater concerts I went to for that exact reason. Excessive volume

Maybe it's me, but in my experience, concerts have been less loud than they have been in the past.  The loudest ones I've been at recently were Gene Simmons in a small club, and Yngwie Malmsteen in a theater.  I bring plugs to most shows I go to, but I don't use them more than half the time.

I remember seeing Pearl Jam in a small hockey arena, and it sounded like someone screaming over a bunch of marbles rolling around in a steel drum.   I saw Ozzy back with Joe Holmes and it sounded like nails on a chalkboard.  Contrast that to both Slash and the Claypool Lennon Delirium, which sounded like I was listening to my stereo in my living room.

Loudest show I went to was Probably Judas Priest on their Epitaph tour. My first concert and I've brought ear plugs to almost every one since.

Do you read Sutter Cane?

Interesting, this band has the current vocalist of Barren Earth and the bass player from Sunless Dawn. Two awesome bands. I guess I should check it out. :metal

Yeah, listening to the last song on the album now. First time through it seems like it could be a contender for top 10 of 2021, maybe. We'll see how the 2nd listen goes.
