Ithaca by Black Fate. Prog metal, maybe prog-power metal, but I guess more prog. Singer is a dead ringer for young Roy Khan. This is a good album

Vasilis Georgiou.  Did no one send you Sunburst in any of your Roulette's?  Surely Ruslan did.  Also, he appears in that Project Aegis track I sent you last year - Angel in the Ashes.

I knew Sunburst before any roulettes.

That is the first Ozric Tentacles album I've ever heard; I might have to check out Technicians of the Sacred sometime.

The leader/guitarist/keyboardist of the band also put out a solo album in 2019. It's an Ozric Tentacles album in everything but name, and one of their best.

Ed Wynne - "Shimmer Into Nature"

I've listened to every Ozrics album, including the 80s releases. There is an evolution to their sound over time, but it is not so noticeable album to album. But if you listen to almost any 80s album, the put on one of their early 90s albums, like Erpland or Strangeitude, then one from the late 90s/early 00s like Spirals in Hyperspace, and then one of the more recent albums, there is noticeable difference in sound.

My favorite era is the early 90s, it is the perfect mix of "metal" Pink Floyd mixed with world music and groove. Over time they have increased the electronic aspect of their music, and are more keyboard heavy in the later albums. I like all incarnations of Ozrics, but I think their recent albums have been most exciting since the 90s, like the aforementioned Technicians of the Sacred, the Ed Wynne album, or the new album.

Trying to get a full listen of The Flower Kings - Islands in, but have only managed to make it to the last track on the first disc (after several interruptions and restarts).

This is better than I was expecting. I expected Scott and Dave to bring it, but this record is just some nice pure thrash. Patton is more tolerable than I had expected, which is a good thing.

99.99% certain this is my album of the year. Sounds as amazing right now as it did all of the other times I have listened to it.

Sounds Great :tup   Reminds me of Paradise Lost.

UFO - You Are Here

That Mr. Bungle album is quite good which isn't a big surprise with that line-up. Great riffs and leads all over the place and Lombardo is as great as ever. One of the best trash albums I've heard in a while

Quite surprised no one mentioned the new Draconian album which came out friday. I'v heard it three times over the weekend and it will be in my top 10 this year. I love some female fronted doom and Heike Langhans might be my favorite female voice right now.
