Lol even the band name is similar to DT. Theater of Dream, Factory of Thoughts.

Their first album is amazing.

I just bought a digital copy of the debut from Factory of Thoughts - Lost without hearing a note.  I trust TAC’s opinion.  The songs downloaded to my phone and I saved them on my computer and they are compressed files.  I need to figure out how to get them to iTunes library so I can put them on my ipod and burn to cd’s for my truck.

Will be surprised if this doesn’t end up in my top 3 AOTY list, it’s just perfect. :heart

Is this their only record? If so I will probably visit this very soon. I know they didn't do so hot in my roulette but that was relative to the competition, I'm actually kind of curious how the whole record sounds.
I'm intrigued by the cover and the fact that it is a debut by a relatively new indie band. I might check it out.
Katt, you heard the highlights to be honest, it’s their only album but for me this downtempo groovy stuff just really works. Definitely a ‘vibe’ listen if you ask me though

Mladen, yeah. If you like kind of moody trip-hop/indie stuff this is very worth it to try. It’s a short album, catchy vocals and very good production most of all. The kind of music where there’s a lot of intricate stuff going on in the background on closer listening!

Also, delivery day! Just received the following 3 vinyls and jamming all:

We Lost the Sea - Departure Songs, my personal favorite instrumental record of all time.
Algiers - There Is No Year, still a 2020 favorite.
Kamasi Washington - Harmony of Difference, familiar with most of his music but not this one prior to ordering, but it’s slowly becoming my favourite by him!
people on this board are actual music fans who developed taste in music and not casual listeners who are following current fashion trends and listening to only current commercial hits.

Gee, thanks Mike!

To me, the first album really had character. It also has a different singer, but he had a great tone to his voice.

The second album just sounds like run of the mill progressive metal/hard rock. I hate to use the word generic, but to me these two albums are miles apart.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Pretty good album, I don't know if it's my favorite RTJ release but solid nonetheless

Going through all Tower of Power albums on Spotify but it seems the record 'Power' isn't on there. Hm. :(

EDIT: On my second play of In The Slot now, another record full of gems. Does this band have ANY songs that aren't at least very good? Man... crazy good band

it's worth nothing that Power is the US release of TOP which came out a year earlier in Europe (not to be confused with T.O.P., which was a 90s album)

Hmmmmmm. There's the self titled from '73x then T.O.P. from '93 but I don't see any others. I plan on buying these records so I'll make note of this one. Discogs to the rescue.

I listened to this album for the first time. I'm honestly not sure what to think of it. I mean, I liked it, it's a good album for sure, but beyond that, I don't know what to say about it.

Didn't really expect to like this as much as I do but it's got really great melodies and some catchy songs, especially the slower numbers, kind of epic feeling even though the tracks aren't so long.
