I've tried out a couple Opeth albums, and I felt that they were good but nothing special. Ghost Reveries, though, is really good. I can definitely see myself coming back to this one.

i can confirm that Ghost Reveries is the best Opeth album by no small margin. it's a 5* album for me whereas their next best is a 4* at most

I'd listen to Damnation if you like their acoustic side, it's brilliant and my personal favorite.

By the way I know you like pop, so I’d like to recommend you Dua Lipa’s new album Future Nostalgia. This is my favorite song on it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOfFxhAhZuA I think the chorus is just fabulous, but all of the songs on the album minus the last 2 are great imo.

I've been meaning to listen to this album for a while, and I finally did. What a great album! I could easily see this becoming one of my favorite albums of all time in the future. Honestly, it's pretty hard to rank each song, but I know Fear of a Blank Planet and Anesthetize would be at the top and Sentimental would probably be at the bottom.

Despite what the cover might suggest, this is not a 70s prog album :lol. It's actually some fucking amazing 70s space ambient, progressive electronic music. It's not super weird, but it's very hypnotic and powerful - there's a deep sadness and loneliness I can relate to here.
