On first listen, this is already one of my favorite records of the year. Piano/synth-heavy instrumental post-rock (except for one track with a few vocals). Super light, dreamy, very focused on creating ethereal textures and emotional swells. Gentle and timid could describe a lot of the music. It's only 34 minutes, so it's concise. Never feels like it's dragging. I love this.

Doom metal from March 13th. Not really my thing but not bad. Vocals are the only bad thing tbh

Started with Infidel and went backwards chronologically through their discography... wow. Never heard of this band before but it's solid traditional heavy metal with obvious Priest and Maiden influences. A killer singer and huge high notes and gang vox in the hooks. Love this band. Can't remember the last time I sat through a straight-up keyboard-less, no frills heavy metal record, let alone an entire discography. Cool tunes AND a uniform style across the album covers which I think more bands should do!

:jawdrop:

One of the finest metal albums I've heard all year. Melodeath, but it's dripping with melody and groove and rhythm, and no two songs are alike. The growls are aggressive but not too guttural, the words have enough clarity and enunciation to mostly understand what he's singing. There's an awesome harpsichord + dancey-synth breakdown in the song Sealing Our Fate. The Pt. 2 of the title track at the end of the record is this super triumphant, clouds-parting type of 10 minute epic. What a fucking cool album. Strongly recommended. Have not heard a single person talking about this band or record, so check it out on Spotify.

I gave it a quick sample on its release date. Been knee deep in the Riot Discog Thread, but that has one more week. I did Save the Burden Of Life on Spotify though, as I have a number of albums in the last few weeks.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol
