before that was Sade as well, Lovers Live (lifelong fan of hers, she's great live as well)

District 97: Screens (found that band yesterday and completely by accident too, I would guess it's prog with a female voice)

eehhh. i tried listening to this when it dropped and i'm listening to it again now because of no reason in particular and it's... fine. i don't really like the vocals at times & i don't know if a ton really stood out to me either, but melodic death metal of this variety tends not to. i may give it another spin though because this has been getting a lot of acclaim and i mean, it's enjoyable enough

man i dunno, i've seen this get not so favorable reviews but listening to it again and this is just a great black metal epic? exactly the kind of sound i'm looking for, only really complaint is that it's fairly short for an album, but EHH.

Hi, I have been away from here for so long.  Anyway, I'm listening to a lot of stuff but mainly Genesis.  And strange enough, I never liked much the album And then there were three but now it's like something new for me since I just enjoy it and listen to it many times a week.  Also, besides Elton John's best commercial success, I don't know much about him and started to listen to his very first 3 albums.  Genius music.  Not my daily needed kind of music but it's always great to find music that brings something new besides everything you already know.
With all respect, sincerely yours

trying to clear off my backlog ahead of my roulette so spun a lot of stuff today, two of the better ones;
Maieutiste: this is just some damn solid black metal. a little bit of post-metal and prog in there but i dunno i just dig this round a lot. just annoyed by the 10 minutes of silence into a pointless minute-long bonus track at the end though lol
Seizures: "mathcore/ambient" apparently. i definitely hear elements of both but more post-rock than ambient honestly. first listen i thought the clean stuff was good but the heavy stuff a bit much. second listen most of the heavy stuff is cool, actually. riffing kinda makes me think of The End but more modern/heavier overall. anyways it's cool stuff

Very weird yet somehow chill and absorbing ambient / industrial music, with some sort of jazz vibes on the third track. Pretty interesting band.

After reading this I thought I'd check this out. I was hoping I'd like it a little more than I did, but I'm not saying I didn't enjoy it.

And yes, that 10 minutes of silence is so pointless. It's almost as long as the end of At Wit's End. ;D

Weyes Blood - Titanic Rising

Well damn this is a great year for lush, beautiful, and catchy art pop. Sounds both very modern and somewhat ancient.

obsidian tide: i originally saw this as like a midway point between tool and opeth (a la soen but leaning more on the heavier side) but another site also pointed out a cynic comparison that i think is not necessarily wrong. it's a cool prog metal album that is definitely influenced by some other bands but does a lot of stuff of its own too. just not sold on the clean vocals yet, i guess
kora winter: turns out when i listen to this outside of the context of "it sounds like the hirsch effekt" it's actually quite good in its own right, but it's not really trying to do the same thing the hirsch effekt do. good post-hardcore tho for sure. train you shouldn't have showed me this early it's perfect for the foreign language post-hardcore bonus point
