It's interesting that even though they seem unrelated to Agalloch, some of the non-distorted guitars still have that atmospheric "Portland sound"

Can't see myself getting much replay value out of that record though.

Meh. Not for me. Sounds like a aural menage a trois betwee The Cure, Devin Townshend and Steven Wilson. That hollow/echo-y sound should've stayed in the 90s.

It's like a hard rock version of The Smiths. It hits a spot for me, while not being exactly in my wheelhouse.

Been on a big David Gilmour kick lately. It's a DVD, but I burned it to my network drive and is very worth a listen. If you don't want to go to that level of work, "Live At Gdańsk" is a show from later in the same tour and is just as good, even if it lacks the "home town intimacy" of the Albert Hall show. In either case, it's pretty clear that this guy can play the guitar.
