It really is hard more me to choose my favorite album from Opeth. Is this the album that they practiced in the dark and also did the main guy end up playing the bass parts due to the bass player leaving. Of course i may have this all wrong.

Ever since seeing the Neal Morse Band, been on a binge of all his albums and have completed a lot so far.

Studio - Testimony, One, ?, Momentum, The Grand Experiment, The Similitude Of a Dream, The Great Adventure.
Live - Alive Again

That show also led me down the path of getting into Haken full time, so been listening to them on a loop as well

The Mountain, Affinity, Visions, Vector.

Listened to the two most popular tracks on Spotify- they don’t have the album you played.
First track was ok, a bit too folk music for me - I can see Morris dancers and it kills the mood. Both singers were excellent though. Second song was more metal and was fine until the growls showed up. For growls they were fairly palatable, not so over the top, but I just kept hearing a melody a normal metal vocal could have sung.

Music was good though. When the drums were blasting away I thought I was going to get bored very quickly but he variedthe rhythms well.

I highly doubt there are gonna be many better heavy releases this year. Post-metal/Sludge/Hardcore/Heavy prog (FFO: Neurosis, The Ocean, maybe a bit of Gojira)
