Holy crap, that was hard!  I had 13 songs selected and it literally hurt me to uncheck six of them (and my favorite song from Never Surrender wasn't even on the list).  I ultimately went with:

Magic Power (anyone who was a teen in the 80s can relate)
Fight the Good Fight (absolute classic and probably a top 10 all-time song)
Blinding Light Show/Moonchild (what a fucking riff!   :metal)
Killing Time (probably the best blending of Rik's and Gil's voices)
Ordinary Man (epic "everyman" song)
Time Goes By (best song on Thunder Seven)
A World of Fantasy (yet another Triumph song with a chorus that just destroys)

Virtually every other song on the list is an honorable mention, but I'll mention these in particular:  Hold On, Follow Your Heart, Never Surrender, Lay It on the Line, Say Goodbye, Stranger in a Strange Land and Too Much Thinking ("that is, as I said before, a falsehood!").
"There's a bass solo in a song called Metropolis where I do a bass solo."  John Myung

Yep, narrowing it down to 7 was very difficult.

I hated not being able to vote for quite a few, especially Never Surrender.

Ordinary Man is one of the greatest songs ever by anyone.

Ordinary Man oughtta win this hands down. And yeah, tough to whittle them down.

Of the given choices:

Blinding Light Show
Just a Game
Ordinary Man
Lay it on the Line

Not listed:
The City
In the Night
Street Fighter

Honourable mention:
Stranger in a Strange Land
Time Goes By
Fight the Good Fight

I left out Little Boy Blues since it's odd to include just 1 instrumental out of a dozen or so to choose from.

edit: Dammit. I knew I should have looked at T7 before voting. Every song is about time. Killing Time sucks. Time Goes By is great.

Little Boy Blues, though, is a stand-alone full band instrumental, as opposed to the many short acoustic numbers Rik Emmett would do, or intro tunes like Air Raid.

Great poll...

Magic Power
Hold On
Just a Game
Never Surrender
Killing Time
Spellbound
Time Goes By

The "Time Trilogy" from Thunder Seven is probably my favorite Triumph moment of all time.  In fact, I'm going to run off and add that to the "3 song salvo" thread.

EDIT - except I forgot that Midsummer's Daydream is also in there, so I guess it's not really a 3 song salvo.

Yeah, I figured that was your thinking. I just regard it as a Rik Emmett tune. Just like Suitcase Blues.

A buddy of mine likes to make me jealous by telling me about it. :lol

Yeah, I figured that was your thinking. I just regard it as a Rik Emmett tune. Just like Suitcase Blues.

I can see that.  I saw Emmett by himself in the late 90's and was shocked when he actually played Suitcase Blues.

And he played Ordinary Man, which I still remember because the whole crowd did the echo of the word "answer" near the end of the song.  Emmett had this look of both shock and joy.  I don't think he was expecting that.

If I told you Mountain opened and they had a fight onstage would that make that sun explode? :lol

The next tour, TSOK had Yngwie Malmsteen opening.

The only songs in the list that mean much to me are

Magic Power
Fight The Good fight
Lay It On The Line

"My era" of Triumph is Surveillance and then I worked back and bought/listened to the rest but the songs that I could sing in my head right now are mostly off Surveillance.  Being an 80's child I like the beefier guitars  :)

Tim may love metal, but his look screams Wham.

Yeah, wham bam thankyou m'am.  :metal

You wish old timer.  After reading this, looks like I might have to play some Dokken at work tomorrow.

Thankfully my era of DL is pre-Adrenalize  :lol

Funnily enough when Slang comes up in discussion on the odd forum I peruse the attitude is often that in hindsight it is a great album.  Personally I could never stand it.

Emotions In Motion or Emotion Detector?

I have an idea for Wildranger if his Beach Boys thread doesn't work out.
