Aye, but then he posted this some weeks ago:

The Cure is a weird band; the early stuff is hard to listen to, but I like the stuff around "Disintegration"; very lush, very much draws you into the mood.    Having said that, I got to see them live, and it was A-MAZING!   Over three hours, and even though I didn't know much of the set, it was absolutely mesmerizing.   Really good show.

Personally, I think it's a fantastic album - either my fave or 2nd fave from SG.  But seeing the albums that are getting 9s and 10s, they are nothing like Shadow Gallery.

Personally, I think it's a fantastic album - either my fave or 2nd fave from SG.  But seeing the albums that are getting 9s and 10s, they are nothing like Shadow Gallery.

I figured it would have a chance, considering how much he liked Sieges Even, even though Shadows Gallery doesn't sound much like them. I was going to send Room V, that's my favorite, but it's the second half of the story. I think he needs to hear it in order

Before I update the hangman, I want to say, just because non-metal gets 9s and 10s (if they're good enough) doesn't mean metal can't. I'm just really hard to impress. Now some of you might say, "But Katt! You've given 8s and 8.5s..." - yeah. I haven't scored much below a 7 in this roulette because I really try to be fair judging an album and if it's well written and played etc. but not gelling with me it'll still get a 7 or 7.5 or even an 8 likely. Once you climb above an 8 you start to really impress me, and anything 9 or higher is just fucking awesome.

So the reason I've tried steering away from power metal is because, well, that's grounds for a paddlin'. If it doesn't impress me. I'm hard to please in that realm.

Also: from time to time I still dabble in fake plastic instruments (Guitar Hero) but I exclusively play custom songs on my PC and laptop with my old Guitar Hero 2 controller. Shadow Gallery's "Stiletto In The Sand" is a track I've been playing for years but never heard the full album until now

I don't know.  But the top scorers have been avoiding metal, so I didn't think it was one of them.  I'm probably the last person you should ask about whether it's a bad album to send.  But I don't think it's a bad album at all.  I like it a lot.
