My music tastes are pretty all over the place. All of you finalists have sent some seriously awesome stuff throughout the roulette.

I've only listened to 2 albums so far, but I should get some heavy listening in over the weekend. Of the 2 albums, one was a little meh, and the other was pretty decent.

I love that power/prog has equal chances with black/death metal to score well in this roulette.

Not expecting much score-wise for Helloween, but I really needed to send that album once I knew it wasn't banned.

Some tidbits after a couple listens

- Not much stood out
- This is pretty cool, but perhaps a bit over long
- I feel I should like this more than I do
- I like the vocals, they remind me of another band
- This is really cool and moody and I love how the band lets the music breathe
- Some of the coolest riffs all roulette

I'll fight you for it... mine is 12 tracks / 74 minutes. I was worried about the thought of it 'dragging on', but since I wasn't in contention for 1st place, I went with it anyway.

My album is 34 minutes I think? I found that I don't really care about the score it gets (it was the opposite for the EP, I really wanted my EP to score well), because I know this album is great. Maybe dated, maybe not for everyone, but it is for me.

I don't think it's really possible to lose by 2.7 points in this round unless you send total crap or some controversial album, especially when you had a streak of 9 and 9.5s and your tastes align with the host. And I consider Keeper pt. 1 to be controversial because older albums often get shitty scores in roulettes for production and other stuff.

But it's out of 20, the difference between an 8 and a 9.5 in a normal round is 3 points in this round

On this topic, I'm planning on revisiting pretty much every song that was sent in the context of their respective albums and seeing if the ratings change and providing new scores. It will probably be a few months after the roulette ends, since I have a ton of 2018 releases to catch up on. I've fallen behind running this roulette.

tbh I would think you'd like the exist album a fair bit, the first half of writhe is just the heaviest part of the album and all lol

If or When is basically Writhe if it didn't have the heavier stuff tbh though it also doesn't have that great outro

I wouldn't go so far as to say I hated the heaviness. It was just executed poorly, in my opinion. The outro is great though.
