With apologies for the delay in posting this:
The London show was pretty fantastic. St Pancras New Church is a lovely venue for this sort of thing. Traditional church layout, audience seated in the pews, grand piano on the chancel. Jordan treated us to an evening of virtuoso playing - we all know this guy is an amazing keyboard player, but I'd never realised what a loss to the classical music world he was. We were treated to a few classical pieces, some old standards, some prog classics and even some DT tunes, all tied together with Jordan talking us through his life history and explaining why each piece was important to him and what it represented about his life.
I've met Jordan at M&Gs, and he's always come across as being quite guarded, but this was another side of him, really open and giving of himself. I don't really know that much about him, and it was a revelation hearing him talking about his time at Juliard, and his stint in a Kiss tribute act! And the cherry on the cake was Marjana from iamthemorning joining him for a version of Bowie's Space Oddity!
This was a fantastic, intimate evening with a world class musician, and I think everyone there came away feeling like Jordan was their best mate. The church does need to provide a few portaloos for this sort of event, though...
