The Rivalry will indeed be good.

Agreed on Gardy, but he's gone after this year. The Yanks still have one year with Ellsbury, but I doubt he's ever going to play. Maybe they can buy him out.

I didn't see much of the game last night, but Angel Hernandez is one of the worst -- if not THE worst -- umpire in MLB today (only C.B. Bucknor gives Hernandez a run for his money).  He actually has a lawsuit pending against MLB, in which he claims that his national origin and/or age are the reasons why he hasn't been made a crew chief.  LOL!

If the Kimbrel is prone to meltdowns like that, then a Dodgers v. Red Sox World Series could be awfully interesting!

She is known as Front Row Amy.

Also, how about Brewers reliever Brandon Woodruff hitting a HR off Kershaw. It is destiny.

That was amazing.

What was also amazing was that the ump picked up on that Catcher's Interference on the line out to Freese. That was inning changing.

He's gonna score the go ahead run.

In most cities when an opposing player crashes into the outfield wall and is down for several minutes and appears hurt, he gets a respectful applause if/when he gets up and appears to be okay.

Except in Boston (and Philly).

He was fine. Boston has long shown respect for other players. It's not like he was injured. He played the wall like an ass and got shook up. BFD.

Just calling it like I see it.  When he got up, I was stunned at the silence from the crowd.  I guess I shouldn't have been.

But nothing happened though. He was fine. If he broke a leg or something, he would've certainly been cheered. And to cut you off....not the way you think. :lol

He banged against the wall, sat on his ass, and then got up. Like I said, BFD.

Heart attack moments in the ninth are what I love most about MLB playoffs!

Last night while we were watching, Mrs P says, "I'd really like to know what's up with Kimbrel's sweep-the-leg pose!"

Random thought...

My wife (casual Red Sox fan) asked me after the game last night why David Price didn't get credit for the win.  I explained that a starter has to go at least 5 innings to get the win.  She said that's stupid, and I said that's been the rule forever.

But I have to agree that it's kind of a stupid rule.  A reliever can get credited with a win no matter how many or few innings he pitches, so why impose this arbitrary minimum on only the starter?

I suppose this is pissing in the wind since to change the rule at this point in history would screw up a lot of statistical analysis, but it does seem fundamentally flawed.

Also, GO DODGERS!!!  Big game tonight.  Hopefully Buehler bounces back from his crappy outing against Atlanta and that our hitters wake up.

Especially in this era of bullpen usage, the rule should be tweaked. MLB is always very slow to change.

I dunno what's with Dodger hitters turning ice cold in the playoffs.  They could have won the WS last year if they hadn't stopped hitting in game 7.   Some of them have terrible plate discipline.
