Leviathan has some great stuff on it for sure, although I still enjoy a lot of the songs on The Cage (The Hollywood Song, Great Vacation namely).

something cool was posted by the band after taking a poll; a MASH Up of the 10 most voted-for guitar solos

#1 and #3 standout to me.

Yeah GOLD I think I may like even more than RED, lol.

The climax in The Saints I is breathtaking. A little like Solemn Dream I suppose.

they did another live stream Q&A last week on Facebook and among the information given, Dead Horse, Alaska is going to be released as-a-whole next year in physical form.

https://www.facebook.com/dirtpoorrobins/videos/686608408511001/

I think that both EP's are very consistent, it's such a hard call to say which one is better.  Both the middle songs on each EP are outstanding tracks!

I like 'Leviathan' too.  In fact (oddly?) the only thing I'm not so keen on is 'The Raven Locks Act 2.' I find a lot of the tracks on this one are too show tune(y) and camp.

Think we will get 'Black' before the turn of the year?

I think these are my ranking for the 8 tracks so far.

1. The Saints 1
2. Skywriter.
3. Scarecrows.
4. Wax Cylinder Sonata
5. All There Is.
6. The Saints 2.
7. But Never A Key
8. Holiday.

maybe, or sometime in January (they may not want to rush it during the Holidays).

I guess knowing now the whole thing is coming out in 1 release, I am not comparing the EPs so much.

They added what may be the cover art for The Raven Locks full release the other day

  • and that is the truth.
Cool! This is one of those bands that I feel like I should like more than I do. On paper I should love them, but instead just kinda like them. But looking forward to some new stuff!

Dead Horse, Alaska (Onyx) [EP] is being released on June 23rd.

Seems to be taking a while.  Can't wait, love the previous two EP's.

Early days but after a couple of listens I'm not getting as much from Onyx as I did the previous two.  What do you think?

I've only managed to play it all once, but I already love it. I'm not sure it's not my favorite of the Dead Horse, Alaska series actually.

'It tore my heart out' is great, 'stronger' is a good one to.  But the other 3 haven't made much of an impression on me yet.

Episode 3 of the Queen of the Night short film series:

"Decent, Dissent, Descent"

Music:

"Enchanté" might be the best track among the whole Queen of the Night series so far.

Any idea how many episodes we are going to get here?  I presume that there will be a full album at the end of it too?

the album is supposedly coming this year, especially considering they've put up all the music to stream and download on their bandcamp.

No idea how many more episodes there will be per they filmed all of it last year I guess.

Maybe 1 or 2 more?..depending if they want to do more shooting, it could be an ongoing story.

I go to Discord sometimes and the people there and on Facebook probably would know.

Gotta be honest and say 'Night of the Queen' material so far isn't up there for me with 'The Raven Locks' or 'Dead Horse' yet.  Still like it, but don't love it.

The Soundtrack is all from the film (hence it's a Soundtrack), but all but 2 of the tracks were released in different episodes previously and on bandcamp.

There are 2 new Tracks, "Babylon" and "Penelope Graves" though.

I believe every track on the Soundtrack has vocals.

Fantastic album though. Epic in a lot of ways. "Enchanté" is just so bloody catchy, I still find it could be my favorite song of 2022. "Penelope Graves" and "Falling Upwards into Love" I'm also becoming addicted to.

Between The Raven Locks, Deadhorse and Queen of the Night, these guys can do no wrong for me.
