I like that Michael always wants to be busy working on new music and looking for things to make the fans happy and satisfied. I agree that the last 3 albums are the best. The sound, production and writing are spot on :metal

As for the lyrics, I don’t have a problem with them, as I’m a christian
It sounds like, "ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk." Instead of the more pleasing kick drum sound of, "gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk."

Iconic Rock Band STRYPER Announces 2019 HISTORY Tour
Tuesday, March 19, 2019 — Chart-topping rock band STRYPER will return to the road in May for the 2019 HISTORY Tour — Greatest Hits & Covers that influenced our generation. The all-new HISTORY Tour comes on the heels of the band’s yearlong God Damn Evil World Tour, which concluded in Japan in February.

“The music of our generation was and is timeless,” says STRYPER frontman Michael Sweet. "It was all about the song and musicians who inspired you to want to play. We grew up on bands like Van Halen, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Journey and BOSTON. We wouldn’t be here if it wasn't for the music of these legendary bands. We thought it would be an amazing experience to play some of these songs live and show you, the audience, exactly were our roots lie. We’ll also be incorporating our own hits & videos from 1984 to 2019, and something from Perry’s past as well (Firehouse). We’re excited to get back out on the road and we look forward to seeing you soon!”

STRYPER consists of original members Michael Sweet (vocals and guitar), Robert Sweet (drums) and Oz Fox (guitar), as well as bassist Perry Richardson (formerly of the multi-platinum band Firehouse) who joined the group in 2018.
Exclusive meet & greet packages will be available in most cities. Fans will have the option of purchasing either a Standard Meet & Greet Package or VIP HISTORY Tour Meet & Greet Package. Both meet & greet packages include an opportunity to meet the band, get autographs, take photos with the guys and receive exclusive one-of-a-kind merchandise. However, the VIP HISTORY Meet & Greet Package (limited to 6 fans per city) offers additional merchandise options and a stage tour (hold Michael's guitar, photo in front of Robert's drum kit, overview of gear with STRYPER crew member).

STRYPER continues to dominate the hard rock/heavy metal scene with the their critically-acclaimed tenth studio album, God Damn Evil - released in 2018 via Frontiers Music srl. Rocking since 1984, STRYPER is responsible for such classic '80s metal albums as Soldiers Under Command, To Hell with the Devil and In God We Trust. In fact, STRYPER is the first band to ever have two songs in MTV’s Top 10 simultaneously with their hits “Free” and “Honestly.” To date, the Dove Award-winning and GRAMMY-nominated band has sold over 10 million records worldwide.

God Damn Evil is available now wherever you can buy or stream music: http://radi.al/GodDamnEvil

Hmm...I'll be interested in seeing the set list and seeing where they play out here when they release west coast dates.  Might see it.  Might pass.  Not sure.

They were just here late last year. Great show. Seems like they pass through annually. And so does Michael Sweet as a solo act. He's got an upcoming show in our area.

Hard-rocking band o’ Christian brothers known as Stryper are out on the road this summer touring and having some fun, and our Atlanta restless contributor Rockhouse Photo caught them in action at The Masquerade. Check out the article and some excellent photographs below!

Stryper's leader Michael Sweet returns with a formidable album which oozes heaviness and brings along a cast of heavy-hitters. Read everything about it below!

I was never a huge Stryper fan.  I did recently started re-visiting all my 80s and 90's Christian metal.  There was some great stuff back then!!  Bloodgood, Barren Cross, Sacred Warrior, Deliverance and Saint.

I struggle with Michael Sweet’s voice these days, and everything sounds the same. It tires my ears. Like Tim, I should enjoy it more than I do because it seems quality. There’s just something stopping me loving it. It’s not the lyrics because I couldn’t care less whether they’re singing about their god, Satan or the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

I loved their older albums.

I actually thought their best written, most diverse album was Against The Law.  The new song sounds fine but nothing I felt like playing again.

There's something about his voice that also just doesn't connect with me.  I think it's just the sound and tone of it.  I love him on some songs and not on others.

The music on the new song is killer.  But the lyrics are so cringey -   "he's a holy human sacrifice, nailed upon the cross"

I think I'd accept this band more if the lyrics weren't so obvious and narrative like this.  You can talk about faith and how it impacts your life - weave that faith into human experiences.  Stretch your creativity a little instead of having a number of songs on every album that come off saying "I love Jesus" in this way or that way.

Theocracy seems to be able to do it, especially on a song like Easter.

The thing about Stryper is that they're...well..solid. I can't criticize them because I do think they're excellent, but they really leave me wanting more.

Against the Law has a great somewhat fresh feel and is something a little different, very enjoyable album.  My first was No Hell to Pay and I think that will always remain my favourite.

I completely understand the criticism about the band though.  Those that are iffy on them though, check out the live DVD from the No More Hell to Pay tour.  Can't even recall the name but I think it's Live at the Whisky?  Enjoyable release.

I'm not remotely a Christian or believer but I love the over the top nature of them. The cover art and super-enthusiastic delivery married with the Christian lyrics and power metal is often laugh out loud hilarious to me. I've got a lot of warmth for them.

I enjoyed the new single.
