So only five from 20 years, then five from 8 months?
8 months? You realize we are 20 months into the 2020s, right? Unless you don't count 2020 as part of the 2020's...
Making a post now so that I can remember to try and come back here later when I've formulated my lists for each "grouping of 10 years starting in 0 and ending in 9".
What would be a fun list for the 2020's would be to predict what albums MIGHT become your favorite for that decade! Like Dream Theater's 17th album, or Haken's 8th album, and then we come back to this thread in 2030 to see if our predictions held up over the previous 9 years!
Edit...okay, here's what I've come up with for tonight.
1960's:
King Crimson - In The Court Of The Crimson King
The Beatles - Abbey Road
The Who - Tommy
Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin
Chicago - Chicago Transit Authority
1970's:
Rush - Hemispheres (AFTK was close)
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Queen - Queen II
Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway
Yes - Fragile
1980's:
Rush - Power Windows
Genesis - Duke
Yes - 90125
King Crimson - Discipline
Asia - Asia
1990's:
Rush - Counterparts
Porcupine Tree - The Sky Moves Sideways
Spock's Beard - Beware Of Darkness
The Flower Kings - Stardust We Are
Dream Theater - Metropolis Part 2: Scenes From A Memory
2000's:
Transatlantic - Bridge Across Forever
Spock's Beard - Snow
Dream Theater - Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence
Ayreon - The Human Equation
The Tangent - A Place In The Queue
2010's:
Big Big Train - English Electric Full Power
The Tangent - A Spark In The Aether
Spock's Beard - X
Flying Colors - Flying Colors
Rush - Clockwork Angels
2020's:
Pattern-Seeking Animals - Prehensile Tales
Transatlantic - The Absolute Universe
Liquid Tension Experiment - LTE3
Big Big Train - Common Ground
Nick D'Virgilio - Invisible
That...was more difficult than I expected. Spent nearly 40 minutes sorting that one out. Quite a few tough choices had to be made too, and from the 90s onward, I could probably pick Top 10 or 20 and still have a hard time narrowing down the lists!
