Thought I should update on roulette albums as I finish giving them enough listens. Beginning with one from Stadler, who sadly didn't make it past the elimination round.

The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots

My first listen: 'WTF is this?'. Last listen: 'Ooooooh Yoshimiiiiii they doooon't believe meeeeee'. But seriously, this one took a while to grow on me because of how weird it is at times, going from simple guitar ballads to orchestrated pieces with electronic beats and weird effects to damn catchy pop tunes - plus it seems half the songs were recorded live? Very quirky album, it's both fun and emotionally touching. Stadler sent me Do You Realize?? and as I predicted, it was probably the simplest song on the record, and not close to my favorite here.
