Of course, I think the only Ozzy music I know is the popular Sabbath tunes (I fucking hate Iron Man though :lol just a heads up).

Just wait until it's loaded (there's progress bar at the top at the screen) and then press start. You can disable selfie/video, it loads faster and I don't think you want to make a video of yourself singing :lol at least I don't want to
Awesome, I found it.

Also here are two more snippets for ya dudes:

Yeah I recorded this one after trying LordCost's entry like 10 times and killing my voice, I wanted to get an easy one out of the way :lol maybe I'll do a second recording tomorrow if no one guesses it.

At least you learn perfectly my song, I got some bonus listening.

And I saw now that a song of the same album sent in your second roulette was among the worst of the round, I hope you have changed your tastes a bit. I'm still confident.

Went with the phone :P

Okay so while we are waiting on Luke, I figured I would start off with these as my voice could use a rest day for the others. If you guys want to complain about me only giving you 4 snippets right now you should be at LordCost because his song made me want to take the rest of the day off :lol and I'm not even happy with the result so I'll do that one tomorrow again.

Also decided to give you guys the band names of the first four since they don't seem to be very recognizable. I'll give the others a bit more time and then reveal the band names too.

First impressions is that it's a pretty mixed bag. I have a lot of songs grouped together in the middle right now and one at the bottom (however it's only the first listen), with like 2 more near the top and 1 pretty clear #1.

I think the vocals guessing game was kind of a flop productively speaking :lol we only guessed one. Oh well, during write-ups the songs and their sender will be revealed. Let's go!

This was just a killer tune. The growls are really quite extreme, and I like to think I'm used to something. I haven't fully gotten into them (yet), just not really the type of growls I prefer, but the music is extremely good. Consistent quality, but bouncing back and forth between musical ideas at the snap of a finger without making it feel tacky. That part that I used for the snippet was especially great, the riff on that one. I'm still in the early stages of rating the songs but this is definitely upper tier round 1 material, but not the winner.

You're on to the next round Elite, this means you have no excuse to be late with sending. Strombus by Moonloop was a banger.

I always start with the album that the submitted song was of anyway, unless the sender says otherwise :) but good to get a second opinion

Spotify lists Devocean as 2017.

Weird, I looked it up and it actually was released this year, don't know why Spotify lists it as 2016 for me then.

I totally get why you would send this. It's crushingly heavy but not in an 'angry' way, I'll admit it has some nice groovy riffs going on and the more atmospherically oriented open chord guitar tracks in the back create a pretty cold feel, almost like you'd hear in black metal. I especially dig when the tension builds and comes to a full break and then they go into the chorus again, seemless.

Let me just clarify that Eryn Non Dae do not make better metal than Hypno5e though, that's wrong. :corn But Hidden Lotus was still good, you're still in Para man

we did it reddit

also there's like, 6 other songs on the album and at least three of the others are great so w/e. 2nd and 6th tracks are great longform post-metal style tunes, opener is energetic and aggressive. the songs in the middle you might like more than i do, they're all okay but not as memorable for me. the first album also kinda sucked iirc. nice

Sounds interesting, I'm pretty hit/miss with post-metal though. I probably like the songs you don't like more, yeah

Now moving on to a song I was pretty sure was gonna make it through before even listening to it, and I guess the participant was also pretty confident in it based on my banned list. Actually just about one week ago I discussed both bands with this singer with a colleague and we came to the discussion that we both found this band to be slightly too 'sweet' for lack of a better term. Doesn't really have the raw aggression to it that some of the songs of the other band do. That said, Jim Grey is a top-tier vocalist and lifted up the quality of the song for sure. It wasn't the home-run you were hoping for though, not super impressed by this band.

Puppies_On_Acid, you're through. I'm still on the fence about checking out the entire album because it's sooo long but I think I will. Arcane - Promise (Part 2) is a pretty strong song, even though the write-up may indicate otherwise, I did find it enjoyable.

I kept you in suspense pretty long the last time so let's get this one over with. Now this song ended up sounding to me like 'just an inferior mix of bands I dig in roughly the same genre'. TesseracT, Periphery, After the Burial, that pretty much sums it up. Why don't I like this as much as any of those bands? TesseracT create some really epic soundscapes that I can hear Monuments trying to replicate a bit here and there in the background, but it doesn't reach the same height. Periphery have really catchy hooks in pretty much every chorus, and here I found some of the melodies (especially the second chorus) to be awkward sounding and not very strong. After the Burial is just all-out aggression, and these harsh vocals I feel have a bit more of a post-hardcore edge to them - even if only a very little one - so I'm missing the full-on aggression in them I guess. I just try to be as critical as possible so you get a better idea of my preferences, don't get me wrong, it was still a banging song and you're through to the next round.

Congrats lonestar, you've already lasted twice as long as I did in your roulette, pat yourself on the back. 97% Static had its flaws but overall still had sick moments.

1. Moonloop - Strombus
2. Eryn Non Dae.
3. Arcane - Promise (Part 2)
4. Monuments - 97% Static

Remaining songs:

* John Frusciante - Song to Sing When I'm Lonely
* Defecto - Ode to the Damned
* Edge of Reality - Grababyte
* The Panic Channel - Teahouse of the Spirits
* The Hotelier - Your Deep Rest
* Faith No More - Malpractice
* Bear Ghost - Necromancin Dancin
* toe - Goodbye

Winner tomorrow afternoon. At any rate, the results will be completed on Saturday morning. So would like to have the round 2 songs by the end of the weekend or the start of Monday.

I made it through! Barely. I was debating between that song and some of the heavier, more aggressive songs on the album, but it did its job. Check out the tracks Selfsame or Unturning for something more aggressive. The last half of Selfsame is particularly amazing (imo). The second half of the album is much lighter than the rest and I know for some people it can drag a bit. I find it a perfect way to end the album though.

I definitely know what I'm sending for the next round. Prepare to have your face melted!
