Hello all.

So GF's car's water pump took a shit yesterday. Seeing as it's our primary car (mine is a POS and just gets me to and from work), this is a problem that we are scrambling to get fixed.
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Hello, all.

Sup bitches!!!!

Got some stuff going on now that I can't talk about pretty much anywhere else, but you guys are in my sacred inner circle so here goes....

After 14 years at my current hotel, I'm finally on the job hunt. Beyond what has become an untenable environment that I don't see getting any better, I'm ready for a gig that will offer me a bit more stability in scheduling and hopefully a good deal less stress. Sitting in Starbucks now, about to hit up my first interview in almost 15 years. Wish me luck fuckers!!! :metal :metal

Oh no, that wasn't it. I love doing those things. Leading a team to kick ass is right up my alley. It's being in a constraining environment that puts needless obstacles in the way of everything that is driving me fucking batshit, and I'm not the only one. I know a few of the other guys are looking as well. Seems they fucked up the budget projections and now are tightening the noose everywhere to make their bonuses, making us pay for it dearly. That and the fact that I just don't have faith in my boss anymore.

I wish...they couldn't afford me though. I'm actually looking into some companies that run employee cafeterias for the local tech companies. There are three big ones, and they spread themselves all over the place. My bro works over at Adobe systems and is doing really well. I'm interviewing with a corporate chef for one of them at the Lyft headquarters, whose office is right next to AT&T park :GiantsMetal:

Losing faith in management will make you want to look, makes sense and hope you land one of those gigs at a tech company.  I've got to think that's a great spot and would be a fresh environment.

I hear ya since my old jobs had me working nights/weekends/holidays and it wasn't until working for a tech company that I got time off similar to most people.

I came into work feeling like I was having the beginnings of an anxiety attack over the "zero overtime" rule my new account manager has put into place. She put it into place but has yet to do much to help me fill shifts, as I am severely understaffed. I called the owner of the company and basically told him that I respect what the new account manager is doing, but she needs to take a step back and realize that I've been working this account and for the company for 7 years. I know what I am doing, and I don't appreciate the flak I am getting. I get she's got 250 employees she's got to keep track of, but that's exactly what I am here for. To manage my crew... and if she isn't going to offer anything constructive or to step in and help hire people, then she needs to take a step back. He said she'd talk to her and have her ease up.

I do have good news. I have a lead on a possible account in we can put a bid in at. In theory, if we pick up another big account, I'll get a pay and position bump. Fingers crossed!

Speaking of downtime, my gf just decided to start making all these plans, I had to tell her to stop.  I am soooo looking forward to downtime next week, and already all but 2 of my days are booked up now.  I really just want to chill at home, get some personal shit done that I dont have time to do and mostly rest my mind.  All my vacations this year were really active and busy so I haven't had much time this year to just sit back and recharge which I am desperately needing.

A co-worker just told me she's taking two weeks around the holiday and doing NOTHING.  No travel, no plans, just chillin' like Bob Dylan in NYC and man, I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO jealous.

Yeah, this is essentially my plan for my two weeks coming up. Might do a couple random things (e.g. seeing if I can get good seats for a Brooklyn Nets game for cheap at the last minute), but my plan is basically to spend two weeks on the couch with beer and Netflix :hat

Looks like I'll have a couple days to just chill out still though.  Also a couple friends will be home next week so I'm sure some plans will form with the guys.  I just so badly want to zone out, been a crazy and super busy year.

I'm just wrapping up Day 1 of a 15-Day Bolbathon. Started by finishing Sense8's 2.5 hr finale over coffee this morning. Went and saw A Deadpool Christmas with jingle.son. Gonna watch the Springsteen thing on Netflix with mrs.jingle right now.  Close it out with the Leafs venting some frustrations in the Devils.

BOOM.   I was going to write the exact same thing.   Do people have no common courtesy?   Would you say some of those things in person?  I'd like to think not, but with the state of the world, who knows?
