I am trying to keep myself from losing my shit today.

I woke up to find that one of my oldest friends (known him since we were like 6 years old) killed himself over the weekend. 

Got into work to find 10 fires needing to be put out. My patience are going to be running thin today.

Best jury duty ever, all trials were postponed so we were all let go and it's considered completed jury duty.  Will get my $5 check in the mail in a few weeks, got paid by work for the day, and I just got home so now off for the rest of the day.  Not a bad way to start the week.

Not bad at all. Almost everyone is out of the office today so it’s a fairly easy day at work. Beautiful weather too.

I'm going to a wake tomorrow for a good friend who lost his Dad this past Thursday, 6 months after his Mother passed away.

It really sucks. He had a lot of shit go on in his life. Addictions. Trouble with the law. But it seemed over the last 2 years that he had gotten his shit together. Nice job. Happy relationship. 1.5 yr old daughter.

Apparently there was still a lot of shit going on beneath the surface.

Aw man....it's heartbreaking enough to learn someone had gotten to the point where suicide seemed like the only option left. When I was much younger I used to view suicide as massively selfish and just an unforgivable offense.....but as I've aged and am starting to understand mental health issues more and more I find myself less 'angered' by suicide and just more utterly saddened when hearing about it.

Then, when you learn there is a small child involved that will never get a chance to know/meet/love her Father because of it.....it's even more brutal to digest. My heart goes out to this guys family....and you Jay.

Only a couple of days. It was just a quick filler idea. 75% of that time was for the extra CG creature and the music at the end. The rest was a few minutes of editing.
