Sorry for the late reply lol. Friday was hectic (worked my normal shift 7-330, and then came back in that night at 10... I was dead...)

Work's been going okay. I'm working on restructuring my "Management Team". Right now I have myself and 2 guys under me as my leads. I am going to rework them into "Assistant Supervisors", and promote 2 others up as "Leads"... so things are 3 tiered.

I know I am going to piss people off, as the 2 people I am promoting haven't been here long, and they are young (21 and 23). But they show initiative. They ask all the right questions. They learn from their mistakes. They know how to DEAL WITH PEOPLE (which is a big plus). I know I am making the right decision.

Now I need to schedule a day to bring them in and train them on their new duties. BUT before I do so... I need to come up with a list of their new duties... since I am basically creating a new position.

The great thing is... when I brought this up to MY boss, he showed no hesitation. He basically told me to let him know what I want to do and when to do it, and he'll make the changes on his end.

It's still weird having this much power.

I am a bad ass.. but no.. just had to travel to another galaxy after having my dna scrambled, lucky I did have my decoder ring and back up 8 tracks of Doobie Brothers to use for coordinates to land back in the Nile, I then took a Vespa 9000 miles to my final destination.

Nothing much, dreading going to work especially since I'm going to have an incredibly stupid meeting with out dev team at 1:30.

Long story short, I sent offshore a list of things to do over the weekend, they did none of those things and now are telling me that those things I want done are not possible when really it's because they are lazy.

In our office in NYC today. Been here for 4 years and every 2 years they swap out your laptop (we lease the laptops, so they just swap it out with a new one of the same model). But also, today is the techops team outing so the group is going bowling with an open bar and food later. Hoping for a snow day tomorrow.

We replace laptops as needed, I just got a new one because my old laptop had a lose hard drive connection which was giving me some BSOD's. I fixed the issue and now I have two work laptops so I don't have to carry a laptop to work.
