Morning
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

I haven't slept.

I'm in the next city over.. But I know a lot people who've been evacuated.. As well as my other half's father, who refuses to leave.. The mandatory  evacuation zone ends a block from him.

We've been listening to the scanner.. This is devastating. I'll post photos later.

Just had some days at work I had to use. I got pretty lucky because there is a software release that was supposed to happen a few weekends ago but it got pushed to this weekend. My days were already approved so they couldn’t take it back.

I'm still aiming to have it out in a week. Coding is just about done now, and I just have to tweak a few animations, and sort out the title screen. I can't wait!

Marilyn Manson was guest on a TV program here in Italy, and being a land of ignorant bigots, everyone cried against "Satan" being allowed to guest on TV and blablabla.

Best trolling ever: someone made a post claiming that Marilyn Manson shouldn't be invited, but another singer no one talks about, Brian Huges Warner, should be because of all the nice and charitable things he did. And people completely fell for it and agreed with him  :rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin

It's like "Why people give attention to shock horror and macabre icon Alice Cooper? we want the devout christian Vincent Furnier instead!!!"  :lol

Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

I'm sorry, but "devout Christian" or not, there are very few people in this world that (seem to be) cooler than Alice Cooper.  I saw him on Road Trips with Sammy Hagar, and he just seems so.... level headed and down to earth.  Self-aware, humble...

Watched an interview with him on Eddie Trunks show around the time when he played here last summer and he comes off as such a cool person, great performer as well.  Thought his show was much better than Deep Purple who played after him.

I actually admire the person Alice Cooper. Aside his impressive musical catalog, he's very intelligent, as you said level headed, and all around one of the most brilliant minds of the scene. I love how this almost 70 years old dude, with wife and children, who plays golf, supports difficult youths, and never ever went back to the booze or any kind of vice after he quit, from time to time puts on the mascara, the make-up, the extravant clothes and becomes the ultimate wickedly funny entertainer.

He speaks of Alice Cooper in third person, not  because of pride or vanity, but because to him (Vincent) Alice Cooper is a character, a persona. He's fully aware of that, he knows when to be Vincent and when to be Alice, on the other hand many people just don't know where to stop - to quote him from an interview I've read, Jim Morrison was Jim Morrison all the time, and well, he's dead at 27 and Alice next February hits 70.

I agree with all of that, but the greatest thing?  And something that many can't pull off (as much as I love him, Paul Stanley falls into this category):  it never rings false.   When you have a guy "playing a character" like that, it is SO easy to fall into a rut and rely on clichés to the point where it's just a joke.  I might even put Ozzy here (the "Prince of Darkness!" Ozzy).   Alice seems to have found that perfect middle ground where it doesn't come off like a gig or an act.

Howdy all. Much needed quiet day off on the couch after a two day offsite leadership seminar. Two days of public speaking, group discussion and role play (preemptive no not that kind :P) is pretty much my idea of hell. So a quiet day off today, and then leaving for an overnight beer adventure to MA and VT.
Photobucket sucks.
