DT were fantastic last night in jersey.  I probably had more fun at the NYC show, but I think their performance was a bit better in NJ.  Sooo close to catching a JP guitar pick.  I need better hand eye coordination.

Hey guys, I have a question and I really did not want to create a thread just for this, but here goes.

I'm trying to fill out an employee benefits thingamabob for the first time ever and I have no clue what's going on. Can anyone give some tips in terms of what the cost of this is out of my paycheck?

Say for instance, I'm looking at filling out medical benefits for an HMO and my deduction will be for $56.10. Does that mean $56.10 will come out of every paycheck and the company of my workplace covers the rest?

Ugh. So worked half a shift, then drove down to City of Industry for my (gf?) 's grandfather's wedding... There were only 6 of us there. Long story. Then had dinner at this resort on top of a hill overlooking the San Gabriel Valley. Fucking beautiful views, as well as a delicious $45 dollar steak were had. Then had to drive back home so I can sleep for work tomorrow. Just got home. Tomorrow is going to fucking drag.

Chances are yes that's going to be the out of pocket deduction each paycheck.

One, you should have an HR person to help you through that.   But generally, for healthcare coverage items, it is a per-paycheck deduction, before taxes.   You have to check if the "$56.10" is per week, per paycheck, or monthly (my company gives the amounts as "per month" and it's up to me to multiply by 12/26 to determine how much comes out each paycheck.    Because it's likely "pre-tax", the actual reduction of your pay might be something less (because you will be paying taxes on a lesser amount).

And this is why I make sure I keep my United status if I can each year.... free first class upgrade to Jacksonville this morning.  The last one of the family to head down there for an extra long weekend.

My gf travels for work and I"m jealous of her status with airlines, she has status with both Delta and American. When we fly together she'll often get bumped to first class and she'll say "I love you but I'm leaving you for first class"
