Thanks, we are going to Mt Snow in Dover. Not too far, about 4 hours away from me. We were thinking of going to Boston Friday then doing the 3 hours drive from there, but that's not happening now.

Thanks bud. Most of the swelling is gone now actually. A bit still in my left eye, but not too bad and I feel alright about being seen in public for the first time since monday

Fatty tissue on my forehead

We just got to our hotel on Vermont. I've never been to this state and must say it is absolutely beautiful.its a perfect day high 70s and no clouds, but the mountains full of green trees is so awesome. We are about to make cocktails before walking over to the ski resort for the Rock the Roots festival.

Didnt realize they were still a thing. I remember my parents taking me to see the first Batman movie at our local drive in at the time, now it's costco (well, for the last 20 years or so).

I am so beat after getting back from Vermont. I was pretty hungover for what ended up being an extra hour longer drive home thanks to lots of traffic in upstate New York.

So I had a long weekend - my company gave me the 4th and 5th off, and so I took the Friday just because - and I told my wife I wanted to take a day to do chores around the house, but that I wanted to "do something fun" (it was also our anniversary Friday). The "chores" were laying down a hardwood floor in my daughters bedroom, and one thing led to another and it took me FOUR FUCKING DAYS to do it. I literally did not see one live firework the entire weekend, and the only alcohol I had was a glass of wine at dinner on Friday, and a half-a-bottle of wine while cooking dinner on Saturday out of sheer frustration. Haha.

I think I need a vacation from my vacation.

Speaking of that, the ideal vacation as in "I make a trip as a tourist" should be:

- Pre-vacation vacation: you chill out to avoid to leave immediately after the last working day
- Dress rehersal of a vacation: you go where you want to go, especially if it's a place you never saw, and learn what's what (main sights, better restaurants, how to walk around etc...)
- Actual vacation: you enjoy the city or the place you just explored with the added benefit and knowledge of actuallly knowing where you are
- Post-vacation vacation: you chill out again to avoid to come back to work just as soon as you returned home.

That will be me this year. The wife took on a new job and needs to build up PTO. We are taking 5 days off to go you a music festival in October in NJ. Meeting up with 6 others from this forum.

Yea, sucks to be back at work. My vacation of all last week off was mostly laying around and not being seen with my "ogre" face as I was calling it, but luckily got healed up in time for our weekend in Vermont which made everything worth it, that was so fun. But boy did I walk into some shit already this morning.
