What an amazing concert experience! At the start of the show, James said they did not realize how big the fanbase in Manila is and kept on commenting on how loud the crowd is, prompting him to commit that they will be back. And they posted on Facebook that they will be back, the only concert stop so far that they made such a statement.

I finally saw Mike Mangini live. I am so happy!

EDIT: I watched Mangini closely during Hell's Kitchen because it was the most criticized performance early in the tour. He's now doing those hi-hats and cymbals. :) Still not as playful as Portnoy's, but he is getting comfortable with the song.

It was indeed an awesome show, the excitement in the crowd, the anticipation of the opening song, and the best part when the people realized they will play the entire A change of Seasons suite.

When James Labrie, yelled we fucking made it after the first song, the crowd went wild you can really feel the emotional connection the crowd made with that statement Dream Theater fans in the Philippines have waited for this forever we really thought there will be no chance  to perform in Philippines until recently.

You can also see they where happy to see all the people at the meet and greet

James performance and commentary is really a treat to listen to he really killed it!

And yeah Mangini really did satisfied the critics this time it seems,

And as for JP,JM and JR, they are all amazing as always so much power so much energiiie!

How I wish I could also go to Singapore or Malaysia for the next leg of the concert. : )

What an experience

I saw some of the clips from the Philippines show, I haven't seen a crowd at a Dream Theater show that excited in a while. That was truly rockin'.

It was really intense we are excited because Prog Rock/Metal is still not that main stream or shall I say well publicized. But we have significant numbers of patrons who really love Dream Theater there are lots of loyal die hard fans here in the Philippines and we have waited for this for a long time.

Its just the powers that be in the Music industry here just don't want to take risks back in the day so they don't try to invite or organize concerts like this but times are changing because of the internet we Filipino Dream Theater fans have a voice and we seized the day!.

I can even say the crowd where really emotional you can feel it you can see it in their eyes some are teary some are really crying.

One of the most memorable parts is just after the first song Dark Eternal night when James Labrie Yelled as a loud as he can "Hey Manila!! We Fucking Made it"

The crowd answered with a huge Roar like we won a brutal war or something.

The crowd was so loud that by the second song, LaBrie already announced that they will be back.  :lol

Found a good video that sort of captures what I am saying that Mangini's hi-hat and cymbal work in Hell's Kitchen is now better than during the start of this tour. :D

Also special thanks to the TS Davz he is the admin of the Dream Theater Philippines Fans club sanctioned by DT World.  He did a heck of a job uniting dream theater fans and providing info about ticket sales schedules etc, whenever possible.

And off-course the Back stage pass raffle that is really sweet, even though I was not able to get one I am really happy for the guys who got to meet Dream Theater post show.

As for me I got to meet the guys pre show it was kinda rush a bit and I think it made a lot of the fans nervous more but I guess it is just the way the management handles security these days how I wish the guys could have hang out a bit after the signing and we get to talk to them more but all is good its worth the experience.

JP has that awesome smile he said hi and he look into my eye and smiled lol, I feel like melting damn it.

I probably looked stupid out there hahahaha

I love this video of ACOS:

It confirms my impression during the concert that the Kia Theatre has amazing sound. Wow, there should be more concerts in that venue.

I still remember hearing DT for the first time in a small provincial mall in Cavite at a stall of pirated CDs. I was blown away by DT. I wish I could have been at the Manila show, based on videos it seems the crowd was great. I can't wait to see them at The Wiltern next month but the crowd was kind of tame last year when I saw them perform The Astonishing.

A change of seasons did steal the show!!

I had goose bumps specially when the crowd sang "We can hope for the future but there may not be one"

Oh I meant the quality of his voice. It sounds weird. Like.....not like James. It's not his age, he sounded mostly fine on TA, but there it's just very weird and not good.

I wonder who knows about the playlist that they use before the show starts.

This is what I can identify.

1.Perfect Strangers- Deep Purpple
2.Master of Puppets - Metallica
3.Mr.Crowley - Ozzy Osbourne
4.Sweet Caroline - Neil Diamond

Thanks, for the reply I will just go thru the rush catalog see if I can find it but I doubt.

There is also a song by Rony James Dio according to one of the concert attendees with me but I am so ignorant of Dio songs.
