Clearly my ticker is in good shape.  PSU was given a big scare.

Next week it's my Hokies turn to make some big noise.

So much for the Vanderbilt defense.  Looks like it may be Bama and Clemson this year.  What other 2 may join them in the playoffs? The Penn State/Ohio State game later in the fall will be big.

Wow, cannot believe PSU survived that game.

Yea, I'd say there is a clear top 2.  It's muddy after that, but there's lots of season left.

Cal is just getting rolled on all sides of the ball. Who the fuck decided we had to play a top ten team 3 out of 4 games?

Utah is really missing Huntley. The backup quarterback just isn't able to execute the offence...going to be a long season, me thinks.

Oh, and I agree with lonestar, fuck USC.

A Pee-Wee football team from the school for the blind could run through Nebraska's defense. With a blow-out loss against Ohio St. coming up I wonder if Reily will still be coach after the bye week.

Wow Oklahoma blowing it and that awesome win for Miami.  Otherwise, pretty uninteresting week.  PSU by default moves to #3, a bye week this weekend and then Michigan, Ohio State, Michigan State.  That determines the season and maybe who wins the Big 10 East.  PSU's been fairly dominant but we'll see when they play better competition.

Pretty boring week since there really wasn't any upsets the the two prime time games ended up being blow outs. Granted, one of those was my team blowing out Michigan so I couldn't be any happier to see that.  PSU finally gets a win to earn that #2 spot, but that'll be up for grabs again when they visit Ohio State.  While MSU has all of the sudden looked really good and like a potential contender, it still seems the PSU vs. OSU game Saturday will determine who wins the Big 10 East.  OSU has looked like the team I thought they were since the Oklahoma game, but then again (like PSU), they haven't really been tested in that stretch.  Should be a good one Saturday afternoon.

Would really love for that to happen, but they never go down so easily.  PSU showed some new wrinkles against Michigan (specifically the direct snap to Barkley) but I think they are going to need to be creative again this week, show some more new wrinkles that OSU hasn't prepared for.

considering how unimpressive Oklahoma has looked since beating Ohio St., I feel PSU should beat OSU.

One could also say how impressive OSU has looked since that loss.  Plus the history of Urban Meyer dominating the rest of the league after suffering an early season loss.  Also OSU is favored by 7.  PSU could win, but could also lose.  I see it a close game, OSU wants revenge for last year and has everything on the line plus is home.

Gutless play calling by PSU when they had 1st and goal at the 5 with 7 and change left.  It's like they were happy to run it three times and get up by 11 with the FG instead of going for the kill to go up 15. Bit them in the ass.

Yea, their last couple possessions played it too safe when the passing game was working all game for them and the run was not.  They needed to play more aggressive at the end because OSU was on fire.  Such a tough loss.

Lots of football left to play, but Georgia and Alabama could go into the SEC championship game, both undefeated.

Yea, seems likely but it seems possible the loser still makes the playoffs with 1 loss in that scenario if the Big 12 goes the Pac 12 way of beating each other up.  Playoff rankings come out soon, going to be a fun end to the season thinking about how the selection committee will fill out everyone besides #1 and #2.

Assuming Penn St. wins out I still they're the best one loss team.

Not sure over a 1 loss Ohio State, Clemson, Notre Dame, or Georgia/Alabama.

Current 1 loss team. Clemson loosing to Syracuse is inexcusable. Penn St. losing by 1 point to a top 10 team shouldn't be a big deal. Let's hope Michigan beats Ohio St. Remember last year Penn St. went to the Big 10 title game but Ohio St. got in the Playoff.

Yea, another loss for OSU knocks them out of playoff contention but they'd still be playing for the big 10 title over PSU unless they lose two more.  While PSU still has a playoff shot, it's no longer in their own hands.  Clemson also had a tougher schedule overall which is why they are ranked over PSU right now.

UGA fan here. If we make it to the SECCG undefeated and then lose to Bama, I don't think we make it in. If the reverse proves true, that Bama loses to us (probably unlikely, but still), then I think they have a shot to still make it in.

But who knows? I'm happy we've at least got a shot this year. Hopefully, Kirby Smart has the program headed in a more consistently excellent direction.

I think the playoff rankings look more right than the media polls.  Georgia played a tougher schedule than Bama and earned that #1 based on this season and not based on prestige.  Oklahoma to OSU to PSU makes sense given who beat who.  Wisconsin being ranked low makes sense too given how poor their schedule is.  I am still down in the dumps from last weekend though, having a hard time shaking that loss as a fan.

Miami loses to an unranked team and today Bama loses to Auburn.
Bama could be out of the top 4 in the playoff rankings depending
On what happens in the conference championship games.

Yea, Pitt with the big upset, and down goes two of the unbeatens in the last week

Wisconsin, beats Ohio State and they are IN
Georgia beats Auburn and they are IN
Clemson beats Miami and they are IN
Oklahoma beats TCU and they are IN

If any of those teams lose, it opens the doors for the rest of the bunch:

Alabama
Auburn
Miami
Ohio State
TCU
USC

and sadly for me, PSU just missing out for another year in a row with 2 losses, devastating losses.  They finished the season strong, but doesn't matter.  Well, a bowl game win against what could be one of those teams in the second list would still be pretty big for the program.  I wonder if Barkley would even play in the bowl game.

Also, the UCF and USF game was great the other night.  UCF with a win will be the mid major going major bowling.

The fact that Alabama can still make the playoff makes ZERO sense.

You not only don't win your conference, but don't even make your conference championship game, yet you could still play for the title if the voters decide it. It would be like the NFL saying, "Hey, sorry you lost in the divisional round, but the good news is that we still think you are good, so we will put you in the Super Bowl."
