Pixar's Lightyear

I certainly have mixed feelings about taking the character of Buzz Lightyear the toy and making him a real person, but damn does this look cool.

Yea...that looks cool. Though it's odd the character said one word.

I was onboard until it got all slapstick. Good trailer though. Good song choice. 😭

I wonder if it’s Tim Allen.

Apparently it's Chris Evans.

Not sure what or who those are, but Chris Evans apparently played Captain America in a bunch of the recent superhero movies.

The guy on the right, Jeremy Clarkson, was the lead host of the UK version of Top Gear for 22 seasons (400+ episodes). He was replaced by the guy on the left, Chris Evans, after punching the show's producer in the face after being denied a steak dinner following a long day of shooting. Chris had been on Top Gear as a guest several times, and was given the impossible task of replacing Jeremy when something like 4M people were watching weekly. He got absolutely shit on, the ratings tanked, and he was replaced after his first season

OK...so different dude with the same name who hosts a show I've never heard of in another country.  Got it.   :)

I love the Toy Story films, but I have no interest in this whatsoever.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

Yeah...I'm not sure I do either.  The first two Toy Story movies came out at the height of the Disney resurgence in the 1990s, and before my kids were born .  My wife and I saw both of the first two in the theater and liked them, and we passed them on to our kids when they were born.  The third movie came out when my kids were 8 and 6.  Should've been right in our wheelhouse, but none of us thought much of it (to the point that we've never seen the fourth one).  I may check it out when it eventually makes its way to Disney+, but that's about it (unless I start hearing some rave reviews).

At least the trailer didn't do the slow dreary piano only whispery female vocal version of the theme song - cause there isn't a theme song.

They coulda done " You got a friend in me " ultra slow - on piano with a whispery girl singing " you..........got.........a............frrrrriennd........in..................(me)....."

But David Bowie worked just fine.

I'm neither "for" nor "against" seeing this.  Not enough content in the trailer to draw any conclusions.  But Pixar has such a fantastic track record and, as expected, it looks stunning.  So I'll probably see it.  And I think smart money is on me liking it.

This looks great honestly. Better than sequels.
