I don't know if this is the place to make this observation, but so depressing to watch TV shows - especially network TV - over time. I'm not sure I can name a show that hasn't completely homogenized itself after an initial run. I'm currently watching Bull, a show I watched because I like Michael Weatherly and I like Dr. Phil (on whom Dr. Bull is based), but we're at season 6 now, and it's turning into a rote procedural. The characters are all stock: you've got the amazing computer wizard who is moral and ethical... when it suits them, you've got all the diversity boxes checked... But timelines are whack; Chuck (the EXCELLENT Christopher Jackson) passed the bar like a week ago and now he's the lead lawyer on every case that comes in the house. Bull is a hard-driving, hard-drinking womanizer, and BAM! he gets his ex-wife pregnant and now they're a happy, wholesome family with zero communication issues whatsoever.... I don't know; I keep watching, so maybe that's the problem, but it's so depressing at times.
