Watched The Most Hated Man On The Internet yesterday....

...and that title was well earned. What a fucking asshole. No amount of punishment is sufficient for his psychopathic ass.

Stranger Things
The Boys
Obi-Wan

I have nothing left to watch now.
Listen! Do you smell something?

Have you seen:

 - The Expanse (Amazon Prime)
 - Severance (Apple TV)
 - SEE (Apple TV)
 - Mr. Robot (Amazon Prime)
 - Battlestar Galactica (I think that one is Prime also?)
 - The Man in the High Castle (Amazon Prime)

Those are a few series that I liked and didn't regret watching.

The miniseries is not bad, though it does have some notable departures from the book and also skips some of my favorite parts of it (though understandably so). If you enjoy the miniseries I would highly recommend the book.
This for sure.  My family and I watched it together when it originally came out several years ago.  My wife and kids loved it, and I liked it a little less (due to the departures from the book), but it was still pretty good.

Two episodes into Severance, and I am intrigued.  Seems very strange, but I can't wait to see where it goes.  I am not a fan of Adam Scott in general, but this seems interesting enough to where his presence isn't bugging me yet.

I’ll stake a guarantee on it that you’ll be happy you watched it. It’s so…..different…..and it does a great job at peeling layers to a cool story.

Yep, that's what a lady at work who has raved about the show told me.  I am gonna try to get through one episode a night, although I suspect the weekend may bring more than one a day if I am enjoying it enough. :lol ;)

Severance had me hooked from the first episode, though I do agree that it may appear slow at first and then really gets going in later episodes. I just wished season 2 was upon us closer! That said we should probably also make a dedicated Apple TV+ thread, they have quite a few more shows that warrant discussion. Like how we have a Netflix shows thread.

So I watched 'The Most Hated Man on the Internet' which is a 3 part true crime series on Netflix.  It is about an asshole named, Hunter Moore, who paid a guy to hack into private computers and steal nude photos and then Moore posted them up on a website with the victim's social media accounts and addresses.

I feel like I've been living under a rock or something because for as popular as he was made out to be, I never heard of him before.  I'm not a fan of revenge porn so maybe that is why?  Anyway, it was pretty interesting to see how they went about putting him behind bars.  He's out now but supposedly part of his sentence was not being allowed on social media.  I'm not sure how that can be monitored.  But since that was this whole guy's life, I bet he sees that part as worse than going to prison.

I'm no fan of revenge porn either (god, that we have to write that???) but my step-daughter was bullied in high school and we reported one of the kids to the police; while we were there, he showed us a "site" that was organized by state and town, and was essentially a low-key version of Moore's site.  The cop had her - by herself - look through to see if any of the pictures were hers, and I was shocked and stunned because my step daughter KNEW people whose photos were uploaded to that site (presumably without their consent).

My point is, this shit seems pretty prevalent, and so I would have thought he might have been more notorious as well.  I've never heard of him myself, either, though I have heard of Charlotte Laws.

Sorry that happened to your step-daughter.  That is awful.

Charlotte Laws is a badass.  I absolutely loved that one of the victim's moms brought that guy down nearly single handedly.  Talk about a tenacious and intelligent woman who stood up not only for her daughter but for all the other victims as well.   :hefdaddy

Finished the third episode last night.  I hated to turn if off because I want to know what's next.  Also dying to find out how Jake's interference with the past plays out when he gets back to the present that he left.

It has also occurred to me how easy it must have been to get away with random crimes back in the day!

Just finished 11.22.63 last night.  All in all, I'd say it was VERY good.  Well-acted all around.  I have a few complaints, though, and I'll put them in small font so as not to give away spoilers to anyone who might want to watch this (which I recommend despite the complaints).

- I didn't care for the attack by the bookie that put Jake into the coma.  Seemed unnecessary and like it was added simply to stretch the story to eight episodes.  I thought they were going to progress with the idea of Bill being the "second shooter," which I think would have been more interesting.  I also found the stuff about Sadie's husband to be unnecessarily odd.

- I wish they had made it more clear who the "yellow card man" was.  Someone else stuck in a time loop, apparently, but there was too little with him for how prominent he was.  I was thinking he might be someone who knew that things wouldn't turn out well with Kennedy being saved and so he was there to stop Jake.

- After all the build up (and especially the penultimate episode with Jake dealing with the aftermath of the beating and coma), the ending seemed rushed.

- I did, however, like the way they ended up resolving things with Sadie and having Jake travel to Texas for her award.

I need to watch that; some of the concerns you have are strictly with the adaptation, and having not seen it I can't comment.

Not having read the book, I wondered if that might not be the case.

I thought season 2 way inferior to season 1, but the first season is quite good! pity they couldn't deliver an equally excellent season 2, and then eventually got cancelled.

Yeah, I watched one or two episodes when it first came out, and it was very different from the book.  I generally don't mind changes in adaptations, but this seemed like they took a few characters and plot elements and then went off in a totally different direction.

I think they had enough to get the story across, I feel anything more would've bordered on a snuff film tbh..

Adami, there's another Woodstock 99 Doc on HBO that does talk more to the bands and the fans.

Totally. Just wish we’d gotten a few more varied perspectives. It felt a little like they wanted to get a specific story across and did that. I just wonder how other people involved experienced it.

I finally finished the first season of Ted Lasso.  I can't remember a show where I so consistently laughed out loud.  Really solid.   I'm a little indifferent about the outcome of the last episode, but I'm sure they have a plan.

Highlights:  the speech by Nathan; "Jamie Tartt do-do-do-do-do-do-do!"  Anything by Roy Kent.

This one is up next for me.....I have to knock out (7) more episodes of 'Banshee' and I'll be done with that series. It's been a fun/good one but I can see why it was only a 4 season show. They're pushing hard for a storyline thus far...so, I'll knock this out then get to 'The Sandman'

From what I've been told....I don't need any previous reference to the source material to enjoy it and the feedback has been great

Loved that show. I had no knowledge of the books going into it so I had nothing to go on. Truly whacked out show. The first season is what put Richard Schiff on my radar. I love that man as an actor.

The Mandalorian season 2 - yeah, I take my time with stuff  :P I'm three episodes in but so far I love the "adventure of the week" format.

The Great, dramedy about a fictionalized version of the events around Catherine the Great of Russia. Surprisingly cool.

Yes.  This is the new jingle.family Sunday evening dinner-in-front-of-the-TV show.  Had this on the radar for a month or so now.  First ep was rather intriguing.  It really is quite amazing that movie ever made it in to theaters.
