The ARRIVAL
« on: February 12, 2017, 06:53:20 AM »
Anyone else see this movie? I friggin' loved it! What a movie. I was expecting an 'alien' movie and was just blown away at the emotion(s) this movie summoned. So powerful, I'm actually kind of shocked this movie didn't get more buzz. The concept of 'time' that was sold was cool because they didn't really try to explain it....they did a very good job of allowing the audience to piece that together on their own largely due to the underlying story of Amy Adams and her daughter.

I thought it was a great movie.

YES! I saw this movie a few weeks ago and I loved it and no one else I spoke to liked it. It had a great Contact vibe and it was a brilliant sci-fi movie.

Arrival was amazing. Pretty much the same take away. I did love the alien aspect but the fact it had so much depth aside from that was awesome and hit me in the feels.

Yeah, great movie. I'd probably say it was my favourite movie from 2016, but I didn't see many movies from last year, so take that with a grain of salt. Amy Adams was excellent, and I really liked the design of the aliens and the spaceships.

It's currently my #4 from 2016, but I might move them around at some point. And I still have 13 more movies to see from 2016 so nothing's set yet.

Saw it over the weekend and really enjoyed it. I'm a big sci-fi fan, and I thought it was extremely well done.
