I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Hey king, if all goes well, my video should be done within a couple of days. I just need to export the video, and then it basically just needs audio, so it mostly depends on how quickly I can write the 5 bits of music I need.

Interview tomorrow, plus catching up with an old Uni buddy (who was also in my wedding party) that I lost touch with almost 10 years ago.

I have a feeling today is going to drag... I already had a lawn seat for tonight's concert, but I also won two tickets from a Live Nation facebook contest so I now my gf is going to join me for Deep Purple and Alice Cooper tonight.  I'm hoping I got actual seats though, the contest only says "two reserved tickets".  Anyone want a lawn ticket tonight?  I'm hoping a scalper takes it for some beer money.

King, how was Haken.  Listened to Affinity on my way into work this morning, that concerts on Saturday.

I'm not a huge Deep Purple fan, but the concert is 5 minutes from me and figured I'd go check them out before they hang it up.  They have some solid tunes so it should be fun. I do enjoy some Alice Cooper though.  Edgar Winter Band is opening up, but I doubt I get there in time for them.

I like all of their old stuff (ie. with Blackmore), and I'm still glad I got to see one of the big classic rock bands while I could. But I'll never consider it authentic Deep Purple with this lineup. They performed well, I just wasn't a fan of how many liberties Morse took with guitar parts that really shouldn't be messed with.

I saw Deep Purple on the Perfect Strangers tour.  6th row.   It was the loudest concert I ever attended.  My ears rang for 3 days.

I got to see Skid Row play over the weekend at Danbury's Bacon and Brew Fest. They surprisingly sounded amazing. I was blown away.
