What's going on guys?

I moved back into my parent's house this past weekend. Hopefully I won't be there too long.

It may be worth considering taking the position because I have seen a lot of comments about the employees being shit at your job. If you have some ability to staff it you could build a stronger staff.

Well, I spoke with the owner yesterday about a few things, and the subject came up of bumping my pay and promoting me up to a designated #2 behind the head supervisor. He said he'll come up here sometime this week and we can discuss it over lunch.
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Who is the number #1 guy? How long has he been around?

The #1 guy being our Post Commander / Supervisor (terminology used interchangably) and he and I have basically been working here the same amount of time, minus 2 weeks. He has the head spot instead of me because he was more qualified at the time.

So you have The Post Commander / Supervisor

and then 3 Leads (or just refered to as Superivsors).

I am one of the 3 leads.

And out of the 3 leads, 1 of them isn't involved with as much day to day "admin" type shit, as he works nights, and his job is more focused on the hands on shit at night, even though he is still in the same "position" as me.

So what it look like what's being proposed is making a position that's between the 2.

I'm not used to cloudy days. Growing up in Florida when it was cloudy it was storming. Now that I've moved to charlotte it's weird having an entire day of clouds and no rain.

Today feels intimidating. I love the office, love the people, everything about being here, but I also feel overwhelmed simply because I'm new and not really doing anything of consequence yet. I've had some meetings to go over roles and such but I don't have any accounts yet (will be on a call this afternoon with the other senior). I keep reminding myself that I've done this before, I've only been here for about 10 business hours and I have to learn before I can expect to go...I think I have higher expectations of myself than others because I feel like well damnit I should already know what to do! Have to cut myself some slack and ease in as much as I can.

So far, the perks are sweet:

Flex arrival time, anywhere between 8 and 10 am.
No tracked time, just get your shit done.
Unlimited approved PTO - they are letting me go to the beach for a week at the end of the month.
Company issued MacBook Pro plus mouse, 27" monitor, and keyboard.
Gorgeous office space with coffee, water, multiple fridges, beer and wine, snacks.
Completely free access to a full fitness center in the building next door.
Certification bonus incentives.
Performance bonus incentives.
Flat-screen TVs everywhere.
Lounge area with a hacked Raspberry Pi game system with 40gb of video game ROMs, from Atari 2600 up to SNES and possibly newer.

I'm like.... :eek

That's pretty sweet Hyper. There are definitely perks to working at a privately owned company. When I interned in finance after my junior year in college (which was right before the market really went into the shitter in 08/09), they kept beer in the fridge for us and gave us breakfast every Friday (mostly just bagels or donuts, but once a month they brought a service in and had fresh hot food). There was also a company party every quarter, so one night after work they bused us out to the piers in NYC and we had food, an open bar for a couple hours, and our choice of bowling, ice skating, or the driving range. Plus a car service there to get everyone home. Needless to say those all dried up once the economy went to hell :lol
Photobucket sucks.

That's awesome hyper. Those are some amazing benefits. I wouldn't stress too much you'll be in the fold.

It took me a good couple of weeks to grasp what was going on but now I feel 100% confident in my job.

Hey, guys, looks like I'm headed to Wildwood NJ, July 5-8.  I have a very, very important question.

Cape May Brewing Company or 7 Mile?

I'm comfortable on all platforms, but everything in the office works seamlessly.

I was not big on Macs until I got a company issued one. I ended up selling my windows laptop. The MacBook pro is fantastic for every day computing needs. Granted, it's above what I'd pay personally for a laptop, but I can't knock it at all.

It was very cool. I hadn't been on the ferry in well over 20 years.

I was really excited when I stepped on board - and then when we actually left the port and were out to sea. It was a 3.5 hour journey each way.

But i hadn't slept very well so my tiredness made the nausea worse than it would have been. The sea was quite rough on the outbound journey.

I kept going out on deck to look at the horizon and get some air.

Once we docked - I had an hour to lie down and recover. The return journey was dead calm and wind free. Much nicer. No Nausea.

Best thing is - I parked at the dock and was a foot passenger only. Special deal. £5 return. Too good to pass up.

I may do it again but I don't welcome the nausea again. I'll have to try and get a good long sleep beforehand. :)

Sometimes the undercurrent can be so turbulent.  I'm glad the ride back was much better.

It's annoying cause when we were little - my bro and I would run around the ferry and not feel any nausea at all. Even at night with no horizon to be seen.

I can ride a train and not feel nausea. Guess the tiredness got to me.

It was mainly in my head - physically not mentally. I was woozy from tiredness and a slight headache. My belly didn't feel bad.

I ate food with no trouble.

Luckily...

I picked up my bathroom scales - and it's the all glass one with a digital screen and I knocked the toilet bowl with it and it shattered.

I have no dustpan or brush so i had to kind of mop the broken glass onto a piece of cardboard and vacuum the rest.

Oh well.
