So yeah, did not end up doing this on Sunday. Less than half a mile into a walk with her friend my mom had another episode like the one I was posting about a couple weeks ago. Once again she was mostly fully recovered within about 24 hours, but she's still in the hospital until at least this afternoon for testing.

Yeah, all the tests came back negative the first time so after a little more than 24 hours she was released since the symptoms had totally disappeared. We'd been following up with doctors up here and she'd had some more testing done (also negative) and then it happened again. My guess is she'll be discharged either later on today or tomorrow unless one of the tests actually show something, and then all we can do from there is continuing to follow up with different specialists. In the meanwhile she's not going to work, not driving, and we try not to leave her in the house by herself for too long when possible (all things we've been doing since the first incident).

I don't know what in particular they've looked at and ruled out. I know she's had at least one each of a CAT Scan, MRI, MRA, chest X-ray, neck ultrasound, and traditional stress test (and at least one of those scans has been done twice) all showing nothing unusual. They took a ton of blood for analysis yesterday and did some more testing, which we hadn't heard anything about as of last night. They had a more specialized stress test and I think something else scheduled for today.

So at work 2 of our full time (and also reliable) workers are out for an unknown amount of time. One had "a family emergency" and had to bolt to Mexico (he owns a house down there had have had a lot of issues with people fucking with it) and the other's wife just passed away.

Plus a reliable part time guy is on a planned vacation.

I know. I need to make a conscious effort to go for a sleep study. I have to get my benefits handbook and see which places are covered. I mean, for fucks sake, I live in New York City. I have access to the best doctors for every affliction. I need to take advantage of that.

I had to do a sleep study 14 years ago. That's how I found out I had sleep apnea.

I second the sleep study. I keep telling my gf to get one because she will get very little sleep and when she does sleep she often wakes up.

I'm going to check about my ADD tomorrow for the first time in my life. I'm interested to see how it goes with the therapist.

I've been interested in a sleep study too. I snore badly apparently, but over the last 6 months I've noticed I've been sleeping really well lately, not sure why, but the thought of doing a study has been less and less on my mind.

Well, my mom's home. None of the tests showed anything out of the ordinary, so they discharged her last night. She's following up with other doctors today, got an idea on a potential cause (generally speaking) while talking with her two really good friends (who both work in the medical field). So for now we just make sure she takes it easy in the meanwhile and see what the doctors can come up with.
