Apparently I need to. I arrived today, 10 min early, and the employees whom I was relieving took off as soon as they saw my car.

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

It's official. My seven year old daughter is obsessed with Epica and Haken. We must have watched the Earthrise video about a dozen times today. "Daddy, put on the Haken video with the multicolors."

Checked them out a couple of times, but had to stop as soon as the vocals came in. Otherwise it probably would have been alright. Vocals are always the biggest deal breaker.

We celebrated Mother's Day on Thursday, since jingle.son is in Greece right now.  Gonna do yard shit today... we had a cube of soil delivered on Friday, and have had a new 10x12 sun-shelter from Costco sitting in the garage for about a month just waiting for some good weather to take down our old one - the roof was fabric, and shredded last fall when we took it off for the winter.  The new one has a hard top, and is a 3-4 person job to put up from what a buddy of mine (who has one) told me.  Naturally, I'm trying to recruit him - but he's being elusive.

Gonna go do the necessary, then watch SNL.
