Also - the name Coke for Coca Cola was adopted by Coca Cola after people started it calling it that for short.


I can understand calling any Cola drink a Coke just for brevity or whatever but...Saying 'Coke' for a Dr.Pepper, a 7Up, a Gatorade, A Mountain Dew...nah.



EDIT : Although... I guess since Coca Cola the Company probably owns a lot of those drinks - I guess it *kinda* makes sense ?

I always get a chuckle when I look through the music discussion side or the DT side and see some of the oddly conceived threads there.  The current head scratcher is "bands with good 4th and 5th albums".  Nothing against TLM for creating it, I guess my brain isn't wired on that high a level, because it would never occur to me to look that in-depth into things.  I expect at some point to see a thread discussing bands whose second side of their third album have songs with no guitar solos.

Sadly, the answer is Kiss - Dressed to Kill - Rock and Roll All Nite

I suppose the rationale is that if a band was successful that A)they got to have a fourth and fifth album, and B) those albums were good, then it must be a decent band.

Of course, there are still some shitty choices in that thread.

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces
