Where is it?

Nicolo's in Montclair.

If I'm ever near there I'll keep it in mind.

Morning Reaper.
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

Have to do a bunch of chainsawing tonight out in the blistering cold. Getting a huge storm tomorrow and that tree of mine that fell last week is blocking the shed with my blower in it.

My brother had to cut a tree to get out of his driveway last week.  He didn't know until he left for work.

Yea this storm coming tonight is not looking fun.  In fact this entire day is not looking fun, back to the grind in NJ.  I miss that LA weather.

Yeah, this one is not shaping up to be good. I'm going to have to snow blow a few times throughout the day just to keep up.

Yea, looks like it'll be an early morning shovel followed by routine ones every few hours.  I'm just hoping to get the official announcement of work from home tomorrow.

I'm already assuming I won't be setting an alarm.

Just go this from my department's meteorologist

Hi Everyone,

A strong trough of low pressure is pushing through the Great Lakes today which will spawn a high amplitude coastal low pressure system late tonight along the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  That coastal storm will undergo explosive intensification (“Bombogenesis”) as it moves north-northeast tomorrow.  Such a track puts the heaviest snowfall inland from NYC to Northwest of Boston.   However, the final track, how much intensification occurs, how fast it moves, and where the heaviest snow bands set up will ultimately determine final snow totals.

Expected Impacts:  Heavy, wet snow (2-4” per hour possible), strong winds (40 mph gusts inland, 50+ mph possible along the coast), temperatures in the upper 20s to low 30s, minor coastal flooding, 6 am to 8 pm timing, and THUNDERSNOW possible

Snowfall Estimates:
Hartford   New Haven   Eastern CT   Western CT   NYC   Springfield  Boston   Providence
NAM*   17”                 15”                    15”          19”            15”         16”       15”     16”
GFS*      18”                 17”                    20”          15”            17”         19”       13”     13”
NWS*    18”                 16”                    17”          20”             19”         16”       13”     12”
Potential    24”                 24”                    24”           24”            24”         24”       24”     20”

I think I'll have the option of working from home or just taking a day. We're forecast to get 8-12".

Just got the official email to work from home.  Sadly though today is going to be a nightmare.  My data center was left unmanned last week while I was in LA and my coworker went on vacation.  There's so many broken devices that need to be fixed and if I can't get in tomorrow, I need to get a lot of this done today.

Today to compensate for a possible shipping delay due to the snow, I am stuck printing and assembling 150 ID badges for our Summit, along with laying out a publication from scratch.

Also, FUCK MICROSOFT WORD.

G'morning all. Not looking forward to this storm, as it sounds like we may be getting a little more than the 8-12 inches I last heard and our snowblower isn't working.

I just googled and there is a duck donuts like 20 minutes away, is it worth a drive?
If you like warm, made to order, custom made cake-style donuts, then yes.

Yeah, they are pretty awesome.  No pre-made donuts in the case for you to pick out.  You tell them what toppings you want, and they make them.

Other than the maple bacon, my favorite is simple - the cinnamon sugar.  Mmmmmm

Yea we got a half dozen and tried all different types.  The Maple Bacon was easily my favorite and the Cinnamon Sugar was probably my second favorite.  I'm personally not a huge donut, or sweets, guy.  Like I don't see myself driving 20 minutes just for donuts, but that's just me.  This place was very good and I liked how it was warm not some hardening cold donut so if donuts are your thing, then a 20 minute drive may be worth it.

Hot cinnamon sugar doughnuts sound amazing right now.  Earl Grey tea would make it perfection.

What's snow?
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Good evening guys.

First day of work is done and it was great. A lot to learn but the team is one of the nicest I've worked with.

Also it's really refreshing when I come into work and everything is ready, my security badge, computer, all my logins work and I have a welcome book. I've worked a few places already and I'm just sitting there because they've never set up my accounts or pretty much forgot I was starting.

I've had a few jobs where the first day you just twiddle your thumbs because it seemed like no one was prepared for the new hire, but like you, my current job was on top of that and was really great to me on my first day.  It makes a difference in perception of the company.
