I battled Lymphoma when I was 30 and 31 so I came out and enjoyed my 30's. We bought a house, saw great concerts, saw many championships. The only regret was not us not able to have children.

32 was tough for me. I remember being freaked out that it had been 16 years since I was 16. I don't know why that terrified me. Of course, it's been 23 years since I turned 32.

My rough times haven't been associated with a particular age but rather the events of the year that were actually independent of my age. The year my son was born, with the sole exception of his arrival, was a tremendously difficult year. 2015 wasn't a whole lot better than that. But none of those circumstances directly related to my age.

I don't remember any particular age being difficult because of the age/number. Certainly, as Jean Luc once said "I've become aware that there are fewer days ahead than there are behind." Technically, that might not be the case, but at 45, I'm pretty sure that it is/will be.

The one year that stood out to me was when I was 37, and I became acutely aware that I'd been alive more years without the German Wall, than I had been with the wall. I don't know why that struck a chord with me, but it did.
