Grey, bleary day outside. Might be near 80 today, depending on the locale, and by Friday we might have snow squalls.

Well today was mentally draining.

Had to deal a suicide at work today, as well as the moral dilemma of whether or not I let someone on to the property who's intent was to break into the house, which ultimately led to the discovery of the body.
Yikes.

Morning King, what's happening?

Not much.  Going to visit the old man in the rehab today.  It sounds like he might be released next week.

Like Hef said, I hope to never see anything like that.

Sounds similar to the weather we are having here

G'morning all. Grey skies here as well. It was raining before, looks like it's since stopped.

Roughly how many beer recipes do you have that are your go to's

I'd say about a handful where I really wouldn't change a thing. There are just so many styles that I either haven't gotten dialed in yet, or haven't even gotten around to trying to brew that I don't feel like I'm "ready" to try and go pro. I actually had an offer about a year and a half ago from a couple of guys I know who wanted to open a brewery and for me to be the one behind the recipes (they're big craft beer fans, but to that point had never brewed themselves). I considered it for a week or two but ultimately backed out.

Girl who is on disability until after she gives birth and her maternity leave decided to stop in and say hi to everyone today. I guess everyone excludes me, because she went into everyone's office to say hi except mine. I looked outside and noticed her car was gone.

So yeah, there's that.

She has been erratic. One minute she'd act as if she wanted nothing to do with me and hated the fact that she had to deal with me at all, and then an hour later she'd be in my office chatting like we were best friends.

It'll start within 2 weeks, I have a drug test and a background check to do but also a shit ton of paperwork because I'll be working for a bank.

My hours are flexible to an extent, I can work 9 hours between 8-7. I will also have software to implement and test Saturday between 10pm-1am every few months.

IT work at a bank? You'll probably have more late nights.  From my experience, you can't do a lot of real work until after 6pm to minimize risk to the bank.

My position is essentially to work with their internal app for documentation. I'm ready for late nights. They also told me that every few months the whole team has to work from home on Saturday between 10p-1a for upgrades to the software.

All in all I'm ready, i'm just twiddling my thumbs at my current job and there is no possibility of growth.

Ah if you are just doing documentation than maybe not so bad.  Late nights were the norm for making production changes in a bank, especially an investment bank.   They do not mess around.  They are also really quick to fire you if you make a mistake that affects trading.  Sadly Ive seen it a few times.  It really made me not want to work in a bank, plus they shit on IT people.  This was my experience at JP Morgan Chase and Bank of Tokyo and the little work I did for Goldman Sachs.  I worked at Bear Stearns before they went out of business and the atmosphere there was much better.

Data Center, same type of job I have now.  When I started we also owned part of the network, but they took all that away and dumbed our jobs down while outsourcing as much as possible.  My current job is still data center but a lot more networking and systems as well which is good because I learned a lot more here than I would of if I stayed.  Not trying to knock working for a bank, just sharing my experience and your experience will likely be very different.

Sweet! I interviewed for a data center job a little while back actually.

So I come from IT background, mainly help desk support but from what I'm told this role is more to work with the roll out of the software that Wells Fargo has. They kept stressing to me that it's not an overtly technical role and the official title is technical business analyst

So I finally got my shit together and did my taxes.

I am literally breaking even on Federal. I about shit a break.
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Cool, good luck!

I got to do my taxes when I get back from LA.  I actually really like doing them since buying my house because I get so much back now from deducting the property taxes and mortgage interest.

I didn't pay any taxes when I was on Unemployment, as well as I had no Health Care for half the year.

So that basically killed my return.

 Thanks Obama.

No one else here is that erratic and they are all women. Apparently others have noticed that about her, too, so it isn't just me.

This day is absolutely unending. The severe storms they keep issuing warnings for have yet to hit my office, so I don't even have that to watch.

Well in all fairness, it's been quite a long time. I just was watching some music videos and really getting the itch to play but they haven't been set up for years.

Brutal afternoon in the office. Delays from other teams and technology failures stacked up on each other. Just barely going to make it out unscathed it seems.
