I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. So I may or may not have just gotten into it with my supervisor over the phone.

Also... anyone else getting weird errors when trying to log in. something along the lines of "Your session timed out when you were trying to post. Please try again" was popping up as I was logging in.

Short version of the long story:

I showed up like 35 minutes early for work (had to bus to work). He wasn't here. He is supposed to be in till 3, and I come in at 3. I was going to take advantage of me coming in early to discuss some shit with him. Instead, I came just as an incident was happening, and I had to drop everything and get in the middle of it (essentially a verbal conflict at our gate that nearly turned physical).

My Supervisor has called me 3 times to apologize to me for it all. It's mainly because he doesn't want this getting up to OUR boss... because he knows he's in deep shit if it does. All I told him was I am not going to directly throw you under the bus, but I am not going to lie about anything if it comes up.

And on the whole thing with him having family issues, I told him I completely understand, but I can't be left carrying his weight here. I've got his back and I am here to help, but I CAN'T be doing his job. And he can't be leaving early and coming in late every single day, as I am bombarded with complaints from employees about it.

Yup, we were up in Corolla, so pretty far north for the OBX.


The bar by our house had an absolutely bitchin' 80s cover band that Tuesday night, they put on a really good show.

Might be a good idea to start keeping daily records on this.  If push comes to shove, contemporaneous records can be very powerful.

Documentation is still a good idea (taking this from experience), it's good to have smoke plus fire....there is not always a path that leads to fire on its own.  And many companies are loathe to shitcan/discipline people without multiple layers of evidence.

Sitting in the hospital waiting room, but looks like I'm officially an uncle! My little sister gave birth about 20 minutes ago. They aren't letting my father and brother and I in to see her yet, but my mother sent a pic from inside the room and all seems well!
