Totally with you. I'm confused. All I know is, I spent a grand total of 20.99 on the website after tax and shipping for this CD. It better show.  :lol

Waterfall release. Very common in modern rock/pop. I heard an interview that the band spends 40k plus on making a record. If we don't support physical product you can kiss epic releases goodbye.  It will be all computer generated nonsense.

Latest single, "They Will Let You Down", dropped this morning. Quite good, and heaviest of the songs released thus far.

Heavier than insidious?

I think so. They Will Let You Down doesn't slow down for 90s in the middle like Insidious. It's basically wall-to-wall metal.

Insidious sounds more death metal influenced. This sounds like thrash.

Anyone else notice the keychanges? Sounds like b Phrygian  the main riff and verse uses c. G minor then the solo goes from b Phrygian dominant to E. Then to F# then C# for the 3rd verse? There was a guy that tabbed out the books here can he reply?

Would be cool if that Angra/Witherfall tour came to the US.

That would be cool. Didn't Angra drummer Bruno Valverde play shows with Witherfall?

From all the songs released so far on Spotify, I believe it's their best album, really mature and excellent!

Digging in to this. I really like this one a lot on first listen. Man, "They Will Let You Down" is a blistering opening. Then to go right to a slower, moody piece with "Where Do I Begin? - just nuts until it ramps up with the cool bridge into the solo. Good stuff. I need to crack the liner booklet and read the lyrics. I saw they were printed really tiny, so that may have to wait. lol.

I had to go out and buy a second pair of reading glasses so I'd have a pair on each level of the house or one to keep at home and one to keep in my work bag.  Small print is killing me.

This album is really impressing me on the first listen.  I blew off a lot of the singles, since they seemed to be more mellow.  But listening to them now, I like the songs.  Looking forward to additional spins!

Wishing there was an epic like all blew away.. i didn’t know that “What have you done” would be it. Its prog but i feel like Insidous and they will let you down go more wild.

I've spun the record a few times now. No surprises really since all tracks except Sounds of the Forgotten were previously released, but it's nice to listen to the album in order. I don't think the album is quite on the level of Curse of Autumn. It's close, but doesn't quite get there for me. Then again, that's setting the bar awfully high.

Fingers crossed for a North American tour!

I'm enjoying the new album. Musically this is top notch stuff, I just find some of the vocals to be over the top.

Over the top in what way?

I love Joseph Michael's vocals. There's grit. There's range. There's emotion. He's the vocalist I wish James LaBrie aspired to be.

He just tries way too hard and is completely over the top in a dramatic way at times. It sounds like forced emotion and not real. He is of course very talented but would be much better if he toned it down a notch or two.

King Diamond is a big influence of his, which helps me understand some of the those dramatics of his vocals. I don't find it to be forced or fake though - he's pretty genuine when it comes to his emotions.  Look at their second album, which was all a tribute to the death of their drummer.  I don't think any of that was forced.
