I don't know if Mangini's drums are mic'd weirdly but sometimes I couldn't hear his hi-hats and cymbals at all unless he was going full power. HK and a few of the softer songs sounded really weird because of that.

Confirmed: Mangini's drumming has dynamics.  :lol

Watched this video of a girl covering ACOS on drums. I like the way she does the octobans/hi-hats fill that TAC mentioned earlier:

She does a spot-on version of TDOE too.

Confirmed: Girl is better than Mangini. Not lackluster at all.

I think at this point we can all agree to kick Mangini and replace him with a youtube cover drummer.
Think of the PR.

Went to Dusseldorf, what the fuck happened to Labrie except that he is sick? I was really let down by his performance. Honestly he was quite bad on the Astonishing tour last year too.

I enjoyed the fuck out the 2014 shows where he was spot on..

Well, considering how demanding the vocal melodies are and that he was quite ill, imo his performance was very good. I was a bit worried about the state of his voice when he sang some of the high notes in the first half of I&W lower and changed some melody lines but I guess he spared his voice for the more important high notes in the second half, because he hit the high notes at the end of Metropolis, and he nailed UAGM and LTL as well. To my ears the only part that went really wrong was the pensive fear part in TTT, he should invent a good and much lower melody line for this!
Absolutely brillant and the emotional highlight of the show for me was Wait for sleep with Jordans improvised intro.
The fans I talked to after the show and later at the station were not criticizing JLB at all, on the contrary they mentioned he deserves a lot of respect for his performance and that he did great despite his illness. I guess different people just hear him differently or just expect different things from him.

Most of the JLB haters only watch/hear him through youtube videos.. You can like less or more the type of voice he has (of course he'll always sound great in studio), but that he's a pro singer, sings incredible on stage and does his best, that's undeniable..

Something I just realized listening to a YouTube Video of TTT from Düsseldorf - the pensive fear part sounded so dissonant because what JLB was singing live and his voice coming from the tape at the same time didn't match ...(note to James: sing in tune with yourself  ;) or drop the unnecessary vocals from the tape...)
