I would like to say that I had a very pleasant experience at the Nashville airport this morning. TSA was very nice and professional. The one thing I did notice is that they had different rules compared to Minnesota's airport. For one, shoes didn't need to be in the bin and I didn't need to take off my hoody, just had to let them run their hands through the pockets. Minnesota, you have to take it off and let it go through the scanner.

Did you get sniffed by a dog or maybe get a tsa precheck upgrade?  I've never had anyone put their hands in my pocket personally.  But the shoes and leaving hoody on is normal if theres a dog there.  Otherwise, I find it odd that one airport would have different procedures than another.

Sorry for the late response, cram.

No dog or TSA Precheck.
I've always had to take my shoes off and hoody off. I've only been through the line with a dog once, but at MSP they treat a hoody like a jacket so you always have to take it off. Even a fleece sweater/quarter zip they treat like a jacket. Take it off, put it in a bin and go through the line. At Nashville the other day, he said I could leave it on, but I had to run my hands through the pocket and do a shaking motion then he ran a quick hand through them. Not the pants pocket, just the hoody. I still had to take my shoes off, but they could just be on the conveyer belt, MSP I have to put them in a bin, separate from my pocket contents bin.

Maybe MSP is weird.

I hate getting butt fucked.

Case in point:

We stayed overnight in Boston on Saturday. On top of our room cost, it cost $53 to park our van. FIFTY THREE! And of course it was valet only. WTF? The guy drives it up and fucking stands there waiting for a tip. Yeah right!

Also, check this out.
When we got to our room, there was a liter bottle of water on the desk. Now when my kids were younger, they'd have thought nothing of opening it up and take a sip. Good thing no one did!

$7.50?? SEVEN FUCKING FIFTY??

If I only had a clue how to, I would do everything I could to internet shame them.

Courtyard by Marriott, North Station.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

That's just standard procedure for any decent hotel in a major city.  Ubsurd parking costs and then those mini fridges, hopefully yours wasn't sensor tripped by picking that up, sometimes you can't even touch them without getting billed a ridiculous price.  I always bring my own drinks (booze or water or whatever) with me to hotels to avoid the ridiculous prices.

Not in Italy thankfully... and while the mini bar is not cheap, it's usually not a legalized theft either.
I use my sig to pimp some bands from Italy! Check out Elvenking (Power / Folk metal), Folkstone (Rock / Medieval metal), Arcana Opera (Gothic/Noir/Heavy metal) and the beautiful voice of Elisa!

I had a place in Vegas try to bill me a couple of things from the fridge because I removed them (because they stock the fridge 100%+ full) so that I could put my own bottle of water in the fridge.  I lost my shit on them, and thankfully they reversed the charge.  I also had one hotel try to charge me for a LD call on an 855 number once - they hadn't updated their phone system to recognize that 855 was a toll-free number.

Health Insurance billing.  It's always deny first to see if we are suckers and pay for the bill.  Now I'm being told I had no Referrals for 2 doctors. Bullshit I didn't.  So now I have to go back and forth from my primary, the hospital and the doctors office.

My time is money too.  I should be billing all these assholes for my time.

There was a situation similar to yours where I did a ton of work to sort out their error. I don't remember the details. I very seriously considered putting together an invoice and sending it to them for my time and expenses related to sorting out their problem. I've always wondered what would have happened if I did. Probably nothing. I'm sure I would have had to sue them to possibly get anything.

You know, it's popular to point fingers at "insurance companies" as the devil, but think about it; they are the last link on the chain, so all the shit - markup, errors, bad billing - flows down hill.  I don't at all excuse them and certainly they should not be putting people like King, me or Lordxizor in the middle, but they shouldn't be the garbage can either.

Every contract, every transaction, has waste and error and a change for mistakes; unless and until we can streamline this process, we're going to keep experiencing shit like this (and King is dead right:  time is money, and it's not like you can do this on Sunday afternoon when there is no work, the kids are outside, and yadda yadda).

What's troubling is the lack of communication from all sides.

The insurance says they have no referral.

The 2 doctor's offices say they don't have it and call the primary.

I call the primary and they pull up the proof that they sent both referrals.

I call the insurance and now, you've payed your out of pocket to the limit ($4,500.00) but your in service deductible is not at it's full payment.

Me, bull shit it isn't here is the amounts of both  limits paid.

It's circular reasoning to make us pay. Code it wrong, whatever they can do to stretch paying it out.

Such a troubling process that but sides of the isle needs to fix and it's still not a priority for us, the constituents.

lol US healthcare system.  How is it that so many other developed countries in the world don't have this problem?  Not saying we're problem free up here, but payment has never been a thought or concern ever.

Part of it is inertia, and part of it is simple economics.  Regardless of what the AO-C's of the world say, it's damn hard to suck money out of a system.  The cynics say "OBSCENE PROFITS!" but the cynics are demonstrably, provably wrong (insurers do NOT have "obscene profits"; at least not the national carriers.  They are working on margins that almost every industry other than construction and consumable goods (i.e. appliances) would laugh at).     But what do you do with all those jobs that get lost when you remove all the middle-men?  Where's THAT cost in the single-payer model?   Why do people agonize about the small bsuiness record store owner when the big bad internet comes in and sells the same CD for about 60% of the cost, but we're sort of oblivious to the hundreds of thousands of people that would be displaced if we just "went Sweden".

And there are other problems as well; I can easily be convinced that single-payer is the way to go (in my old age, I've come to sort of consider healthcare to be the same as police and fire) but do we really want our politicians - in the current environment - screaming "Fake News!" or "Spartacus!" over our healthcare?

I think there are ways of getting to single payer, but it should be incremental.  The first step is severing the "employer/healthcare" tie.   The second is transparency, so that the actual patient sees what is being paid.   Neither of those things are subject to the (wrong) rejection on the grounds of "socialism!" nor are they evidence that we "want to see people die in the streets".   It's a start.

Another thing I find mildly irritating:  The relatively recent trend for fan theories to be classified as "news" on the Internet.  Not sure whether or not this or similar trends exist outside of movies.  But, for example, when I Google "Avengers: Endgame" and click the link for only "news" links, I don't get to see results limited to only actual news, but get a few sparse news stories buried within pages of fan theories and stories about fan theories.  Newsflash!:  (haha! See what I did there?)  Fan theories are NOT "news!"

Agree so much.  I ignore everything in my FB / YT feeds on stuff like that Bosk.  It's all clickbait.  I don't really need to watch a 20-minute 'everything you missed in the Big Game TV spot'.  20 minutes to analyze 30 seconds?!?!?!?

At this point, the movie is 2 1/2 months away, I'm just waiting for the movie.

I'm the same with music.  Didn't even listen to the final 2 DT singles they released.  Just get me the album.  I can wait a few weeks for the whole package.

Not really "irritating", per se, but I'm done with samples and pre-release tracks.   I'm probably 80 or 90% in HATING the released songs/samples, but loving the album (and even the songs themselves).  Van Halen is an example; I hated - no, better word is "was disappointed in" - "Tattoo", but that was my album of the year for 2012, and at this point I kind of think Tattoo is a neat tune, in the vein of "Hot For Teacher" (and it has one of Roth's better lines - "Mouse-wife to Mom-shell in the time it took to get that new tattoo" - from an album that I think he kicks ASS on lyrically).

I want to say the "me" generation but the truth is, it's every generation I see today.  From blocking isles in grocery stores to not holding doors open.  To walking across the street forcing cars to quickly stop to putting yourself first in all aspects of life.  This isn't an old man rant but we need a little more love for others around us and it seems to be less and less these days.

I cant stand rude people, I was walking behind a lady the other day and she didnt holld the door open for me right behind her I said thanks really loud anyway, well a not very nice thanks just so she understands why I am saying it. I've noticed this more and more, it used to be common for someone to hold a door for you, now it's becoming more rare.

There's a fine line with door holding. I get annoyed by it sometimes. We have 6 elevators in our lobby that all return to the ground floor when not in use. If and elevator shuts as you approach it, just push the button and another elevator opens it's doors almost instantaneously. Yet, every morning without fail, someone holds the elevator door open for someone that's still 100 feet away, only to let on more people who will create even more stops on the elevator. I've purposefully gotten off an elevator on the ground floor just to catch another one (again, already waiting on the ground floor) with no bodies in it.

Same goes for when i'm entering my building. If I'm right behind you, fine, hold the door. But if I'm a solid 30+ feet behind you, just let it close. I don't want to have to speed up my pace just so you aren't stuck there holding the door for me.

Oh yea, it's an interesting game when you start to analyze it, like how close is close enough to hold the door? and of course things like multiple doors, people, elevators, and whatnot all play a role in the equation.  My example was fairly simple, I'm right behind you, no one else is around.  The person wasn't on the phone or anything to not notice me or be distracted, they were just flat out rude to let a door shut in someone's face.

King, with you 1000% percent.   Another one:  I'm almost obsessive about saying "Excuse me".  As in, literally, "excuse my presence here, I will be out of your hair in a moment."   And EASILY 75% of the time the reaction makes it clear that they think I'm confronting them, as in "hey listen, you're infringing on my space; move it."   I mean it in literally the exact opposite sense.  I'm not sure how or when "excuse me" turned into a confrontational comment.

I've noticed this too and have found myself saying "pardon me" much more frequently as of late.

It happens so much in a grocery store.  Even how I say it is intended not to incite yet I get the groan or the dirty looks.  Weird, selfish times for sure.

I have been irritated lately at how freaking expensive beer has gotten since the craft beer scene has exploded over the last several years. I got into beer on larger craft Brewers like Leinenkugel's, Sam Adams or Sierra Nevada. 10 years ago they were a little more expensive than the Buds and Coors of the world, but not too bad. I could get them for $1 a bottle regularly. Now $10 or more for a 6 pack, or even a 4 pack, is the norm for most craft brews. I just can't get myself to pay that much. Even the bigger craft breweries have gone up a couple bucks in recent years.

That's not true.  They've always been more than the old school beers. They were worth paying for them and now, the breweries are so worth the money.

You pay for what you get.

That's not true.  They've always been more than the old school beers. They were worth paying for them and now, the breweries are so worth the money.

You pay for what you get.
I know they've always been a little more, but it seems to be getting out of hand recently. Maybe it's just the stores I frequent, but $10+ for a 6 pack was rare 10 years ago. Now that's normal for even the larger craft breweries.

I always looked for the 12 pack on sale. Always the money saver.
