This gets funnier each time I look at it.
From a Mega Man Legends island jamming power metal to a Walrus listening to black metal, I like your story arc.

I feel personally attacked.
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

I have read every word in that picture and the trail's gone cold, brother. Explain it to me.

I highly doubt that Jani Lane, Eric Turner and Jerry Dixon of Warrant - late 80's LA hair metal band of "Cherry Pie" fame - wrote his 1971 demo version of "Only A Man".  Though that WOULD explain why it's never been released.

But did they make sure to put all the infinity stones back when they finished recording it?

Apparently Warrant did release a demo version of a song called Only a Man.

I got it immediately...I figured it was a carryover from a template, but the Google explanation is much, much funnier, so I choose to believe that one

The interesting thing is, in the comments for the YouTube version of the Warrant song (a different song) someone says "oh, that's a Billy Joel song!".  :)

I didn't recognize the names at all, so the joke flew past me.  Even if I'd recognized them, I probably would've just assumed that Billy Joel demoed a Warrant song for some bizarre reason (I wouldn't have bothered tracking the songs down and listening to them to confirm).

Here's something even nerdier: There was an animated series on MTV back in the last century called "Daria".  Daria's best friend was named Jane Lane, but Jane's older brother Trent was around sometimes and he would call her "Janie", the way siblings do.  He was the only person that called her "Janie".  I thought of that when I saw "Janie Lane" in the credits.  I did not think of Warrant.

I'd love to hear a Billy Joel cover of Cherry Pie!

I overlooked the writing credits because I assumed the joke was some sort of subtle word play in the song titles or something like that.

Actually now that I think about it, I probably would have done the comparison.  Billy Joel covering a Warrant song would be bizarre enough to raise my curiosity.
