The HAKEN Survivor 2016 - Results & Discussion Thread

Well then..

Last year, I made the first post on the annual Haken Survivor on November 7th, this year I'm a day later, but no worries, as we'll have until basically forever to complete our quest. Our quest has been expanded, compared to last year's, as Haken have released a new album in this past year. This means the following albums will have to be ranked by us:

- Aquarius (2010)
- Visions (2011)
- The Mountain (2013)
- Restoration (EP, 2014)
- Affinity (2016)
- Bonus Round: Enter the Fifth Dimension (Demo 2007/2008)

Whereas in previous round, we would send the top 3 to the Finals, I'm changing that to the top 2 songs from each album for this year's edition. This means 8 tracks the full-lengths will reach the Finals. From the Restoration EP, only the song voted best will definitely make the Finals. The third best song from each record and the second best from Restoration will go to Consolation rounds, from which the best track joins the other 9 songs in the Finals, thus creating a nice round list of 10 tracks in the end.

The bonus round for 'Enter the Fifth Dimension' will run simultaneously with the Consolation rouns and will not affect the results of the rest of the Survivor whatsoever.

Every round will last one day, except for the last round in the Finals, which will last for two. I'm posting this thread here in advance, so I can get people's interest. Tomorrow around this time, I will post the first actual poll.

I'm way more familiar with Haken now than I was a year ago, so I'm definitely in for all four albums and the EP.

Cool, I'm firing up Aquarius tomorrow afternoon (my time). I figured that would be a better time to start for consistency than at 23:44. I will try to get every subsequent poll up shortly after the previous one ends.

Like you guys have figured out already probably, the first album we'll be undertaking is the band's debut, Aquarius. Get some listens in like Scorpion and LordCost are doing, so you will know what to do.
