Regarding Ulver, all of their albums are different (and I really mean different). If you enjoyed Son of Man, which you did, you could check out the rest of the album it came from. Another good place to start is their live album 'The Norwegian National Opera' and see what songs you like on there. Follow them up with whatever record they're from.

My favourite Ulver is Perdition City, followed by Messe I.X-VI.X. But they're all good. Even the three 'black metal' records they started out with. (I don't know why people refer to those as the black metal trio, while Kveldssanger doesn't contain growls or electric guitars whatsoever).

Hey guys, I'll get to hangman at some point today. Those of you who follow me on Spotify may have already seen some of the songs though as I wasn't listening 'privately'.

I was thinking about the EP, I haven't thought on rules too hard.

I'll go with like a 40 minute max/25 minute min limit you are allowed to send as many songs as you can fit in that time, you need to use at least two different artists,I'll score the EP as a whole out of 20 and then score the flow of the EP out of 5.

How does that sound to you guys? Have I missed anything?

In regards to scoring songs out of 10, I've just realised that doesn't really work out fair if you send lots of songs  (so I've edited that part).

Scoring EP's will always be a bit tedious due to the ability to insert "transition" tracks. For me personally, if they are like 1-2 minute tracks and work really well with the following/preceeding track, I would just not score them at all, but rather take them into account for the flow score, or as a complementing element to the "real" track that follows or preceeds.

And yeah, sounds fine! I'm gonna look at my options over the weekend and will make sure I have something by the time results are up.

So your band is Inter Arma, and after some quick research, the longest song I found is called The Cavern and it fits the hangmanen so that was it? Everything guessed?

As the next round will only be 4 songs I'm hoping I can pick up the pace with this. No rush though guys, the 4 of you who are left are usually pretty punctual anyway so we're good.

"only 4 songs", gets two 15-16 minute songs, 4 tracks by another band almost reaching 20 minutes of music , and a 45 minute song. Have fun mate this roughly equals twelve 8-minute songs so I don't think this is any shorter music-wise than a normal round

I was thinking of not bothering with hangman this round as I imagined this would happen. All guessed, kudos.

Yea, I know it's still a lot of listening but I still only need to do 4 write ups  so that will take less time.

I gotta say this is a really strong round, based on one listen. Of course Parama's is gonna take a lot longer to digest than the other three (it's basically an album  )

I would've loved to have been able to receive an epic from all 12 participants as if this round is anything to go by I would've received some corkers. I might start a new thread to discuss people's favourite epics.
