I'd like to say I'm going to give this a week at least.

BTW I thought of sending Elder - Compendium in the epic round, but changed it due to the time-limit situation. Look forward to hearing your thoughts on that too!

I initially had Ars Moriendi on it. I had totally forgotten that you had sent that in this very roulette (with less than stellar results). But yeah, glad to hear that you approve of my EP.

I have no problem with songs that mix genres/musical styles and blur the lines between them. Ars Moriendi, however, felt like it was weird for the sake of being weird. Like purposefully throwing stuff together that is so different to get a reaction. It didn't feel like it was natural. Inevitably with songs like this you will always get people who will be like "This is genius, you just don't get it." (and I'm not saying that's what you guys are like). But actually no, it's just not very good (in my opinion) and way too jarring for me, and I like jarring music when it's good. Like that Dir en Grey track we were listening to in the plug.dj the other night.

Don't know how confident that makes you feel Scorp?

Meh, I could have sent something safe and unexciting, but where's the fun in that. I'm at least sure that my EP isn't boring. If you like it, great - if not, I still had fun in this roulette. Win-win, I'd call that.

Totally, as I've said many times I like a risk taker but of course it is a risk. The two songs originally on your EP, that had already been sent, (Justice for Saint Mary and Ars Moriendi) hit both ends of the spectrum for me, one I loved, one I didn't. I like music that feels like it comes naturally to the artist and not in anyway forced. I don't know, I think what I disliked about the Ars Moriendi thing was all the culturally appropriated music. It wasn't adding a cultural influence to the music at points during the song, it was almost completely culturally appropriated. Maybe it's just me

I love Ars Moriendi, but I definitely understand why people don't like it at all. I was fully aware that it was a risk (well, not fully, because if I were I clearly wouldn't have sent it, but you know what I mean). Oh well - I don't think that I scaled back on the risk factor with my revised EP.

Are you going to do first impressions posts, btw? I've always enjoyed them in past roulettes when the host did that for an EP round. No stress of course.

I've never sent it before but I remember Elite recommended me to start out with The Void for Beardfish and this was my absolute favourite song on that album, so there. Also, not to brag or anything, but the transition from the first song into this one is ~perfect~

i actually relistened to my EP and yeah the eight bells song is just way outclassed by the rest, despite being a pretty good song on its own. should've tried harder to find something to replace it but oh well

I hope one day I will be able to actually get to an EP round myself, I'd be interested to see what I can come up with.

I still have no clue as to my favourite EP yet, they are all good and growing on me. I must say that it is weird having the same song on two EPs

I checked out all y'all's EP's (Scorpion's twice and the others once so far), cool stuff dudes! I especially like Suicide By Star as an EP closer a lot, good choice there.

Voluntary Slavery is the true MVP of the round though, it will quite easily score the most points.

This week is mega busy for me guys. I've got my Dad's wedding on Friday, my niece and nephew are coming to stay for a few nights (because of the wedding) and I'm applying for jobs. I'm fitting in plenty of listens but I won't have much time to start write ups. I'll give it a good go on Wednesday night though
